  15. Sporting classic Peugeot lines and proportions, the 307 is set in the mould of a mini-MPV – it looks like the big brother of the 206 who pumps iron in the gym everyday! With gorgeous lines, the styling of the 307 is typical French with a dose of high street fashion. In hatchback form, this Lion-crested vehicle looks the business and would not be out of place mixing it up with junior executives who want a difference from the typical ‘power’ cars mixing seriousness with a touch of fun. The 307 line-up consists of the hatchback, which is joined by the 307 SW (Station Wagon) model. The 307 SW’s design exudes inherent characteristics of the 307 but in estate form, making it a viable family car with lots of space. Its large panoramic glass roof, which acts as an extension of its large, raked windscreen, exudes fluidity while at the same time providing for an airy cabin. And then there is the svelte and very stylish 307CC! This beautifully-proportioned car – it is a coupe cabriolet in the same vein as the smaller 206CC – with its folding roof and four seats, is a hugely appealing car for those who want a roadster but also need some practicality; it makes a lot of sense for young urbanites while being satisfying to drive. Two economical four-cylinder power units are available for the 307 range – a base 1.6-litre making 110bhp and 147Nm of torque. The more powerful 2.0-litre unit makes 143bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. Both the powerplants transfer power to the front wheels via a standard automatic tiptronic transmission. The 307 has been accorded many accolades through its lifecycle and rightly so. It encompasses typical French flair with practicality in a package that endears itself to both genders equally. Technical Specifications Engine 1.6-litre 4-Cyl 2.0-litre 4-Cyl Power 110 Bhp 143 Bhp Torque 147 Nm 200 Nm Transmission Automatic Automatic Price Range Starts from UAE Dirhams 50,000 – upto 98,000* SOURCE: http://automiddleeast.com/2008-peugeot-307/
