Why dose the fuel gauge keep fluctuating?

i had same problem and which i got it fixed that is why when i googled this i got this question as i wanted to reconfirm what i did was correct so what i did was get the sensor changed. and it has solved the problem as of now bit i dont know for sure this is it.
