If you are seeing excessive smoke then that means engine oil is getting burnt inside the combustion chamber. Reason for this leak piston rings is leaking the oil and needs to be change. Which is a very big job to open whole engine and remove the piston to change the piston rings.

There must be something fallen inside the brake lever like coin, pen etc holding it stuck. Get it check and remove the cover and you will see the culprit there.

See if wiper water tray under the hood is damaged, or in boot inside inner liner is leak from the corner, Check all windows beading is air tight and water tight.
