  1. Here is what you have to do: Remove trim around gear shift (carefully pry up) remove screw for cup holder, remove felt pad in lower console. remove 2 10mm bolts remove console. Once I had to do that when my center console cracked and I had to replace it with a brand new one (https://www.carid.com/center-consoles/). First, I thought getting an aftermarket overlay piece that would stick-on, but then I realized, that the sound will not disappear (the cracked plastic piece will give that sound under vibration, when you drive).
  2. 1. I never drive black cars; 2. I always drive with my AC on; 3. I never forget to change coolant in time.
