I have had the battery changed and same issue comes up

Hi all I have 2006 cayenne S and every now and then since like a month ago I get the flash up on dash with ( Four wheel drive system faulty) then goes off for a few days and comes back on. The shifter does work and the trans can be put in low and high range and goes perfectly well but its a nuisance getting the light pop up every now and then. Anyone know why this happens please? thanks all
