  1. @Tareck @Monney Singh @Anoop Nair @Fiel Francis Telan Thank you, it was very nice driving with you yesterday. Very well done everyone! Since all of you guys appeared to be relatively confident, we were able to scale up the level and the pace and throw some challenges that we usually avoid during Absolute newbie drives. We covered more than 40 km. It's been fun! A big thank to @Nivin for his support as second lead and to @Gaurav for his sweep and his advices. Moving forward you all will be joining the Newbie drives and not an Absolute Newbie drive. Drives are announced every Sunday at 11 am, and they go live on Sunday at 7:10 pm. Due to the high demand, these drives get full in about 10 minutes, so please be online at 7 pm to book your spot. If you miss a spot, put your name on the waitlist asap. Generally, by Thursday with dropouts everyone does get a spot if they have waitlisted. For the next drives, please bring along a deflator, pressure gauge, flag and radio as a minimum. Learn to deflate your tires and checking them precisely Learn to fix a flag on your car Learn to program and fully charge your radio Also like I mentioned during the debriefing, join the Carnity Whatsapp Drive Notification to get the latest updates on the drives, so that you can RSVP on time for the next weekend's drive. Please have a look at below topic which describes the tools needed for every level. There is a separate tutorial inside which explains which radio we recommend and how to program them: (Please do not buy the Baofeng 888S spare radio we gave you, as these cannot be programmed without a special cable and software). Please have a look at below grading structure that explains various off-road levels: See you guys soon in the sand again !
  2. RSVP is now closed Attendees : @Tareck (Patrol Y62 2015) @Monney Singh (FJ Cruiser) @Anoop Nair (Yellow Wrangler 2014) @Fiel Francis Telan (Black Tahoe 2008) Manage : @Emmanuel @Gaurav @Nivin See you everyone tomorrow morning sharp 06:00AM at the meeting point. Please park the cars at some distance from each other and wear your mask at all times when you are out of the car - during deflation or inflation. @Gaurav, @Nivinand myself will be guiding you throughout the drive and we will definitely have fun and learn ! If you have off-road equipment please bring it along. We will be providing a spare radio to the members that do not have one yet, from the second drive onwards you’ll need to procure a radio, flag, shovel, and pressure gauge as basic tools. PS: radio channel will be 446.00625 MHz (Carnity channel 1).
  3. Usually, at least for the first drives, we recommend to come with no passengers so that you won’t be distracted and you can stay focused on your driving/learning. That being said, if you are 100% sure that 4h inside the car won’t be too long for your 9 year old son, and that he won’t feel sick, we respect your decision. Thanks again @Tareck. And welcome to Carnity! (I just realized that I hadn’t welcomed you, sorry)
  4. @Fiel Francis Telan welcome to Carnity! In preparation for this drive, it is important that you inform us : 1. if you have any prior off-road experience; 2. your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks / eyelets in good working condition. Thanks!
  5. Hi @Christopher Assal! This « absolute newbie drive » is meant exclusively for first timers with Carnity. I will remove you from the list and invite you to join a « newbie drive » instead. Sorry I didn’t notice earlier.
  6. @Nitin S you will have to add a hitch receiver shackle at the rear. See the photos below. You can find those at ACE, Speedex or any off-road shop.
  7. Dear @Monney Singh and @Anoop Nair, welcome to Carnity! In preparation for this drive, it is important that you inform us if: you have any prior off-road experience; your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks / eyelets in good working condition. Before joining the drive on Friday morning, you will need to have viewed the introductory videos (link above) and to have gone through the COVID19 precautions and agreed by clicking on the "totally agree" emoji at the bottom of the text in the following link : Please also make sure you are equipped with a tire deflator and a tire pressure gauge (sometimes they are all in one tool). You will need these. If you have an off-road flag as well that would he great. In case you do not have a flag mount on your car, you may look for a flag with suction cups, which can be easily placed on one of the rear windows. If you have your own air compressor, please bring it along. All these items should be available at any ACE or Speedex store, as well as at Dragon Mart. Regarding the area of the drive, we will access the desert from a less used entry point, along the road going from Qudra Parking (where you can use the ADNOC gas station to fill up your tank), toward the Bab al Shams Resort. Follow carefully the Google Maps directions: once you turn off the tarmac road (after circling a roundabout next to a mosque), you will cross an opening through roadworks being done along the bike track. Once arrived at the meeting point, we'll conduct a final inspection of your cars (sufficient clearance and accessible tow points are a must). Following a technical briefing, we'll be ready to enter the dunes, and start your off-roading adventure. This area is rarely used by other clubs, and the sand is much cleaner and smoother, so this is an ideal ground to move your first steps in the desert. For further questions, please contact me on this thread. In the meantime, have a great week!

  13. Extreme Desert Drive Extreme Desert Drive is an extension of an Intermediate drive but at a lot faster pace with a continuous drive-time on big rolling and difficult dunes. The difficulty level of climbs, ridge riding, criss-crossing will be more or less the same as the Intermediate level, but doing that over and over again at high speed requires special attention to be courageous but with extreme caution. If you and your vehicle are perfectly in-sync with the Intermediate level without repetitive stuck, refusals, or losing track, then only you should consider joining this fast-paced extreme drive. This drive offers the maximum adrenaline among all the types of drives and also demands a very experienced and sensible driver with a fully protected 4x4 vehicle. In such extreme fast pace drive, it is highly recommended to drive alone without any passengers to avoid any distractions. Who can join: Selected - Intermediate and above With a minimum of 5 Intermediate drive experience. The final selection will be based on Crew and Marshals feedback. Disclaimer: The chance of damaging your vehicle is quite high in such fast-paced extreme drives, so please join at your own discretion. _________________ This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely. We will not share spare radios or program your radio on the drive. If you need assistance in programming the radio, post a topic on the Carnity website with your questions and we will help you out. Make sure your radio is fully charged. It will be your only way of communication while driving. Before buying, please carefully read below advice so you are informed properly on which model / cost / shops... No radio = No drive. It is an essential tool and you should make sure you bring it on every drive and learn/practice how to use it. 14. @Shaaz Sha, @Jorge Stepniak Felippe, @Tero Vallas,@Rizwanm2, @Christian Andras Glad you almost all made it for tomorrow morning. I’ll just copy-paste my last week’s post. A few recommendations and kind requests for our drive: - Arrive with full fuel tank at our meeting/deflation point, which is just a few hundred meters away from ADNOC Service Station Tayba (656): https://goo.gl/maps/5fwxCVFL9zhvVGNF7 - Reach a few minutes before 6AM and deflate directly. The earlier we will move, the less we will have to drive when temperatures outside will reach 38 or 39°C. Addendum: please take into consideration that there might be some fog on the way... - As mentioned in the drive introduction, we strongly advise you to join with no passengers. You will need to be 100% focused on your driving and a 4h extreme drive is very long for a passenger who might feel sick. We will be using Carnity Radio Channel 5 (462887.50) Convoy will be announced tomorrow at meeting point. See you in the sands!
  15. Oh no I completely forgot that you aren’t available every Friday... Really sorry! See you next time then.
