  4. Dear @MKHan whenever you enable the DAC, you’ll have a pulsating noise from the ABS system as it’s applying the brakes, I suspect this is the noise you are hearing. With regards to the AC issue, as your vehicle seems new I’d approach the dealership once and get it looked at.
  5. “When the going gets tough, the tough keep going”… I think we can split up this drive in two parts . The first part we had a good run and seemed even perhaps to good to be true, with all you guys pushing the throttle superbly and the flow was virtually uninterrupted. Perhaps i became a bit greedy as we were pretty close to the famous chimney aka “The eye of Sauron” and i was imagining a photo shoot with the entire convoy in front of it. Here is where part two started: Sauron fixed it’s gaze on us and started to draw us closer and closer, through portions of extremely soft terrain. We were blinded by its gaze and realized the only way out would be to work as a team and with the team we had today was so helpful through every step and stuck. From @Davie Chasesimultaneously wielding the shovel and winch to warn off Sauron’s attacks, to @Emanuel parking his Pajero a couple of times on a crest with the clear intent of taunting Sauron even more 😜. All kidding aside, I’m glad we made it out with big smiles as this kind of drives don’t happen often but they provide stories to remember, and we have learned not to taunt Sauron, but to steer clear and bow with respect. Brilliant first Fewbie drive for @Abhilash Kottakkal with fantastic attitude and always ready to help out. @Ben Lee, @Cristianwho drove fantastic today and helped out where they could, @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke and @Emanuelproving that the Pajeros are indestructible in hostile territory, @Adam Jamesand @FERNANDO SYRIO trying to stay afloat on the shifting sands in the back, and @Davie Chaseas my superstar mate to get us all out of this mess. I guess most of us took a nap after reaching home and even after showering there still seems to be sand lodged in awkward places 😂. See you all soon for the next adventure!

  10. @Sunil Mathew@Andrei S@Gary F@Zulfikhar Naiyar@Krishna R@Benjamin@Gok Krish@Waqas Parvez@Zed I think we had a good run last night ! The weather was pleasant and we got some minor challenges that were dealt with with a smile ! Brilliant driving by all of you. The terrain definitely wasn’t the easiest with lots of tricky narrow spots, descents, and some super soft areas. See you all soon again !
  11. Hi @Andrei Si would highly advise against it due to motion sickness in the dark.
  12. RSVP is now closed Good morning guys ! @Sunil Mathew@Andrei S@Gary F@Zulfikhar Naiyar@Krishna R@Benjamin@Gok Krish@ASAD.@Waqas Parvez@Zed With the meteors flying over our heads, i hope we can get a well-paced drive with lots of tight spots and challenges. This terrain is a mix of technical dunes with mid-sized ones and not often visited by other off-roaders. As always, teamwork will be essential and communication will be key while driving in the dark. We will be using Channel 2 - 446.031 Mhz See you guys tonight !
  13. Hey @Deno Vikram ! Welcome to Carnity ! The difference between 4H and 4Hlc is simple: - In 4H the power ratio between front and back will be around 30/70, and the viscous coupling in your transfer case will make this variable based on the torque needed. 4H is the most common used setting for offroading with your Pajero. - In 4Hlc the power ratio becomes 50/50 and instead of the viscous coupling this becomes a fixed ratio. You mentioned you have completed some mountain trails. Be aware in this summer this will mean your engine will run very hot, because the main issue is the fact you are driving really slowly so there is hardly any ram-air effect pushing fresh air through the radiator, and the fan itself has to do all the work. On steep trails, definitely move to using 4L (low gearing) which will allow you to get good torque and steady climbing ability. You mention your warning sign lit up: was it the engine high temperature or transmission high temperature ? While doing steep climbs the automatic gearbox will be hunting a lot (up and downshifting) which results in overheating transmission. This can be avoided by using your tiptronic (manually selecting 1st or 2nd gear). That way the transmission will stay in the same gear while you are climbing. Some info below:
  14. Hey @Vishnu Ramankutty You’ve brought up a good topic here, and my reply below is based on other new model fortuners I’ve seen performing in the desert. The NO1 weak point on these cars is the massive front bumper, similar to the Montero Sport. And it will be the first part that receives damage eventually. Adding a front bash plate underneath the stock bumper will help but won’t give you a permanent solution. That brings us to the following options: 1) Replacing the front bumper with different design bumper. This is a possibility but not cheap. 2) Lift kit. Will give you a bit more extra clearance which will help saving the stock bumper. You can combine this with a bash plate. 3) Trimming stock bumper. Is possible on the Montero Sport, see @Abhilash Kottakkalhis mod. Not sure if same works on your car. I would advise you to approach a couple of shops (can’t name them here but you can ask other off-roaders on your drive) and check with them what your options are.
  15. @Anish Sabandoning his Prado already... contemplating if he did the right thing by selling his Pajero 😆
