  1. Good morning @TT_Dubai @Alfeathec @Miguel Codes @Vicente Angel Antelm Albel A warm welcome to our Offroad Club Community ! As part of your introduction, please reply with the following info: 1) Which 4x4 are you bringing ? 2) Any prior off-roading experience, if so when and what ? 3) Does your vehicle have front and rear Towpoints ? And are they in perfect condition ? Please take your time to have a look at our Absolute Newbie briefing video: MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING For your first drive with us, the only must-have items is a pressure gauge and tyre deflator so you can deflate your tyres upon arrival. If you have more items such as as radio, flag, shovel and others please do bring them along as well.
  2. That’s because you’re joining Fewbie plus drives my friend. Do a couple of Newbie drives and you’ll have all the time in the world 😜
  3. With the current COVID restrictions this is only possible with a handful of members. So we’ll need to work out something else in the near future.
  4. @Lakshmi Narasimhan have a look at above topic which is about the transmission overheating topic on the Pajeros.
  5. Yes i do think so. Anyways keep joining few drives and see if you notice any strange behavior of the car cutting the power or applying the ABS braking. If not, then i agree the TRC button is the best and least-intrusive option.
  6. Welcome @Ranjan Pattanaik After your first Absolute Newbie drive you are now a Newbie level member and can join Newbie Level drives every weekend. Have a look below at our grading structure: Welcome @Ranjan Pattanaik After your first Absolute Newbie drive you are now a Newbie level member and can join Newbie Level drives every weekend. 7. The Traction Control and ABS work together as one to apply braking power to the wheels that are slipping. So yes these should be switched off in the sand. With regards to Airbags, the frontal airbag is fine and does not need to be switched off as this one only works on frontal impact. Side airbags (curtain airbags) are triggered by a yaw sensor and this should definitely be disabled if you have them.
  8. @luis mantecon i noticed your query about the traction control. Seems the kill switch is the best option. (see above).
  9. @AnishS will be able to point you in the right direction as we do not advertise any workshop names here on the forum.
  10. @Ilya Golubinsky @Tariq Carrimjee @Jeandre Bezuidenhout @Kailas I just tagged few of your fellow Wranglerinos
  11. Thanks @Lakshmi Narasimhan and well done ! Based on your questions, input, and preparation in getting all the tools it confirms you are serious about getting the offroad spirit. See you coming Friday !
  12. Once you have send entering the manifold it will have gotten to the internal components such as valves and cylinders. Sand is extremely hard and will damage bearings very soon. My suggestion would be to change the engine oil immediately and get the engine flushed (most oil change shops have this kind of machine). This would remove hopefully most of the sand.
  13. Thanks @Rizwanm2 i noticed it only this morning as it only works on the desktop (website). It works similar to google Earth 3D function, but i only see the functionality being interesting in the mountains, as anything below 200m is not that impressive and the results in 2D are often more accurate.
  14. If you had sand in the intake manifold I’m afraid the engine will be failing soon. @Ale Vallecchi also had its fair share after a similar problem occurred.
  15. I hope you enjoyed your first Club drive today @luis mantecon ! See you soon in the sand !
  16. Hi @new guy ! The Ford Edge is a nice car as your first car, no doubt about that. Take a look at the following advice with regards to buying second-hand and what to look out for:
