  1. Sorry to hear that @Frederic118. Wishing them all the best and hope they recover soon.
  2. Good morning All ! @frederic demolder@J-P L@Amal Sunil@Frederic118@RiadJL@Ali-M@Theo09@Batuhan Kulac@munkybizness Thanks for joining this drive. As mentioned in the drive post, the aim of this drive is to do a gentle exploration of the entire outskirts of Qudra. It's the perfect drive to take the camera and family along, and to enjoy a sit-down to socialize. Please do make sure to bring your off-road gears as per your level, and of course your trusty walkie talkie. We will be using Channel 4: 446.081Mhz Take note that this drive will last a bit longer than our usual drives. I hope we can reach our destination (flamingo lakes) by 1pm. See you all tomorow !
  3. Try the little software hack. It has turned my UV5R into a very quiet radio 😆
  4. Pretty sure during the maintenance one of the vacuum hoses came loose. It's not harmful to drive like that but fuel consumption will be slightly more as it's not completely in freewheel 2WD now. Better to get the solenoid and actuator checked and/or replaced.
  5. UV5R/UV82 Squelch Levels - Miklor You will need to install free software called CHIRP on your laptop and also buy the double jack to USB special data cable. Amazon and DM sells them.
  6. Better range I don’t really believe, and would potentially only benefit the listener 😅. UV5R was known for lots of static, there’s a small software hack that solves this, I can send you more info if you need. I think the UV9R won’t be having this issue.
  7. Steering rack rebuilt is indeed common. I remember getting it done for our Xterra and ended up around 800dhs. Depending on the type of shop and location this price will vary.

  9. Drive Theme Another famous Scenic drive, where the focus is more on enjoying the terrain than on bashing any dunes. From there we will head north and top off the drive with a gentle drive through the famous Qudra Lakes. 10. All Terrain tires like the G015 are definitely worth it for the following reasons: 1) Allows for lower deflation vs a HT tire. 2) Stronger sidewall. Sand is soft and forgiving but often we come across some barbed wire or pieces of rock on sabkhas. This is where your HT tire would potentially fail prematurely. 3) knobby AT tire profile will provide better traction during self recovery. During driving in the desert your HT tires are indeed a good option, moving to AT tires will definitely be an improvement with stronger sidewall, and better grip when doing self recovery.
  11. Looks like previous owner had an aftermarket device installed like scan gauge, bullydog, or other. Upon selling the car he probably removed the device but left the cable.
