In my case on the app i can click on "offline maps" but it only seems to download the street and topo maps, not the sattelite imagery. -
Desert Navigation - GPS Apps - Comparison and Reviews
Frederic replied to Frederic's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Been looking at this app that is Android based and tailored to motorcycle navigation (on-road or offroad). DMD Navigation is the name of the company, selling devices (tabs, phones) that are Android based, but their standalone app seems to work on any Android device. DMD Navigation - Ultimate Adventure Navigation App and Devices Getting Started - DMD Navigation Will give this one a try soon and post a review. OBD integration with TPMS feature looks promising ! -

What a great day ! We started with a gentle scenic drive, enjoying the marmoom basin just south of the Solar Park. All of you drove very well. For some of you it was their first drive in the desert but nevertheless you drove great ! Thanks for the support @Luke K P , sweep duties from @Aser and second lead duties of @J-P L A bit after 6 we exited with the convoy and headed back in for the Australian Celebration Night. @Jessica Lambert brought a whole crew and it was amazing to see you guys being already set up by the time we’d reached as we had some small delays reaching the camping spot. Another massive thanks as well to @Luke K P for helping out to organize this evening, from bringing friends along to helping out with the playlist. Also a massive thanks to @Imran Asghar for his bright energy and for helping out with my BBQ 😜 it was so great to see people from all different nationalities and backgrounds mingling and sharing food. Thanking all of you who joined, even for a couple of hours. I hope we can do this more often. It was a bit chilly at night but the next morning views were worth it ! @Premjit Vappala@Aser@Brett Eicher@lucasmatt amazing to have you joining both events !

@Aser @Alex M@lucasmatt@Amr A@Premjit Vappala@Luke K P and hopefully @Glenn W and @Imran Asghar Thank you all for joining our celebration night. We will be meeting up at 6PM at the posted location point. You can deflate to 15psi to ensure easy driving to the camp point. If you decide to join later, there is a GPX track attached. We will be only a couple of dunes inside (5mins from meeting point). If you have some space left, try to bring some firewood if you can, as it gets chilly in the evening. Feel free to camp if you like. Bring some drinks, snacks, or BBQ, for yourself and whatever you are happy to share. Friends or family are welcome to join (no need to RSVP on the event). They can either jump in your cars, or if they have a 4x4 /SUV they can join us on the sand. Soo you all tomorrow ! DXB-AUS_TRACK (1).gpx

You might have to define "off-roading trips" and capability in the desert a bit more. If you are into the dune-bashing style of off-roading (most popular here in the UAE), then surely the Jeep Wrangler, Ford Ranger Raptor, Toyota FJ Cruiser are the preferred options. Most come however with some compromises in terms of reliability, space, or others. If you are more into doing long "offroad" or overlanding trips, and love spending lots of time on the road, then you might want to consider looking at: * Land Cruiser Prado (capabilities, reliability, space). * Ford Everest (less popular but with some mods could be quite capable... less known). * Ford Ranger Raptor or Hilux Adventure (if open bed is ok for you).

Long Train Convoy ! @lucasmatt@ArSaLaN@J-P L@Premjit Vappala@Hani crest king@Aser@Yury@Ishraque@Amal Sunil@Sandeep Padhi@Kirill K@Natalia Koryakovtseva@Sviatoslav@Mohit Gurnani@Abdallah Alnajjar@Haneef Thayyil@frederic demolder@JAISROCK@Dipu Francis@Luke K P Thank you all for signing up ! I wanted to clarify that this scenic drive will be a very gentle drive throughout the Marmoom area, and not a dunebashing style of drive. Hopefully we will be able to spot some gazelles, oryx, and perhaps a fox if we are very lucky. This drive is more an opportunity to enjoy the terrain and bring some passengers along that need a gentle introduction to desert driving. Take note if you like to join in for the Australian Celebration night afterwards, please RSVP on that event as well, so we can keep tabs on how many people we can expect. As mentioned, once this drive is finished, we will drive to the exit together where you can choose to exit and go home or remain deflated and around 6.15PM we will be heading back into the sand (couple of dunes only nearby the exit point) for the Australian National day celebration. Of course there is no need to be Australian , it's a relaxed evening with good music and people sharing some food. Feel free to RSVP if you are interested in joining:

Hi @mist30033, perhaps in the mid options it was not added. In our full option 2008 model it was also not there, but there was a workaround: If you're a bit handy with a soldering gun, this takes about 1hr of your time only, if you are not confident, then perhaps take it an car radio installation shop and show them this option. Another option is to checkout the last versions of Pajero (anniversary edition) which came with a fancy touch screen. Perhaps this can be a replacement of the stock radio, but will cost quite a bit more.
