  1. @ChrisW being his versatile self! From mobile workshop to barista 😁
  2. Thank you all again for joining us this morning! We all met up on time and it was clear to me from the start that everyone was eager to dip their toes into the sands of Nahel / Sweihan. As typical for a Newbie level drive, we try to choose an area that's not too much occupied with other convoys or cross tracks. This worked out quite well as this area was very quiet. Some vegetation was there but nothing that we couldn't handle. A couple of dunes inside we saw a brave soldier appearing (insert theme of Raiders of the Lost Ark here...) @Imran Asghar who had enough of his couch and decided to join us for the morning desert run. A bit later @Zubail announced he was losing pressure quickly and his ship was sinking. There was some sand stuck in-between the rim and the tire. Thanks to @ChrisW and his mobile workshop, we lifted the car, deflated the tire to ZERO psi 😆 and cleaned the rim bead with water and eventually also with a blast of compressed air. This did the trick and the tire held up fine for the remainder of the drive. As the weather was so great, @ChrisW brought out the donuts and karak to celebrate his 100th drive today. A fantastic achievement! Your commitment, skillset, and superb guidance to the newbies was a blessing today. I hope to see you as an emerging lead very soon! As time had gone so fast, my original plan of heading West towards Sweihan itself was modified a bit, and we looped back to go and say good morning to Ghafeteen Bowl, which never disappoints. We all took some run-ups and took some nice convoy shots. @J-P L was brilliant in the sweep and showed that even the mighty Jimney can rescue a big Expedition. All in all, the guys in the front who were on their first couple of drives managed brilliantly this morning. I was really impressed with all of you. The smiles at the end of the drive said everything @nithish468 you did fantastic as second lead. Keeping enough distance and polishing my tracks where needed. Thanks buddy! 5. Another option is walking around the car, kicking the tires, and proceed inside to go and tell your wife that you might need a new 4x4 in 2026 as there are Ramadan deals ongoing 😆
  6. Very good topic @Suneedh Wrangler! You will surely find different answers to your questions. These are mine: After a desert drive, do you always go for a full wash, including underbody? Or do you only do a full wash occasionally and just rinse the important areas most of the time? i wash my cars at home and rarely go for full or underbody wash. I brush off / blow off the dirt and dust from inside the engine bay as i don't want to have any water in there. Do you do anything special after drives (like checking skid plates, suspension, bushings, brake dust, etc.) or do you mostly just wash and go? after the drive i tend to listen if a new suspicious noise has come up When it comes to fluids — do you change engine oil and filter earlier than the manufacturer’s recommended interval because of the heat, sand, and harder driving? I change my oil around 7000km (fully synthetic Castrol/ROWE/Mobil1). Air filter i clean myself regularly (10 days). Same question for transmission oil/filter, differential oils, and transfer case oil — do you stick to the recommended schedule or do you shorten it for peace of mind? I stick to recommended schedule here as i don't push my cars that hard. Do you use the agency for everything, or do you prefer trusted garages? (And if so, what’s the main reason — cost, quality, speed, or experience?) my cars are too old for agency, so i go for trusted garages. And lastly — any “must-do” maintenance tips you’d recommend to someone who wants to keep their car healthy long-term while enjoying desert drives regularly? You've covered most of it here above, but i always recommend to check your engine and coolant levels before every drive, and keep a good watch on your temperature gauges (engine/transmission) throughout the drive. I also don't do any high level drives towards or in the summer to avoid overstressing.
  7. Welcome to Carnity @RicMart! I will be posting the convoy list by Saturday. Please have a look at the Newbie briefing video in the meantime.
