  1. Super congrats @J J !! Your calm, coolheaded, and positive approach to every drive and every situation makes you a real asset in our club. You’ve reached the point where shoveling and recoveries will come into play and I have no doubt you will soon be an expert in that too. Well deserved !!
  2. DRIVE REPORT Lisaili is and shall remain my favorite desert area, mostly because it can gently caress but it can also fiercefully sting. We met up at 05:00 at the Camel track, where some camels were already doing their tracks. It remains a magnificent thing to see how the camel-riders are able to stay on top and to which speed the camel can be enticed. The first technical area, which is one that can sting quite a bit, was gentle on us and we made it through to reach the long dunes in a matter of 10mins and only one mini-crest that was easily resolved. Everyone did great and listened to my advice of "driving like you are sneaking up to your enemy" We had the most fantastic dunes to play on, but also a lot more vegetation than before, which is quite remarkable. Except for some crests where @Brette was again very helpful in doing recoveries, the whole convoy surfed through the sand very well. At one point @Nizam Deen had a pop-out, but with the help of @Wrangeld it popped back in place in record time. @Yousef Alimadadi you did great with the Pajero, i know these cars are not the easiest ones, but every time you manage so well, keep a cool head and smile, and many times easily recovered yourself with 4Lo and Rear Diff lock. @Nivin and @Janarthan looks like you were both maybe a little bit too gentle on the Xterras today, hence a few crests. Nothing to worry about and all part of the learning process. @J J was excellent as center forward and never struggled. Same as @Rajeevan Vickneswaran @Adam Marston @Magellan who were very silent on the radio, which is good ! Because @tjsingh his Pajero was slightly overheating and he had to open the bonnet every time we had a refusal, i chose to head out towards the dirt track. Even before we reached that dirt track, the engine was overheating even on small flat terrain, so we chose to tow it back to the road over the dirt track, so the engine could cool down. Tj exited at the road but unfortunately had to call the recovery truck as even driving on road was not an option. Hope you can get it sorted buddy. We took the rest of the convoy across the street to top off the drive with some technical terrain and spotting some gazelles. Finally exited at the trees nearby the Hamari well. We covered 56.4 km in 3 hours and 40 mins, of which 2 hours and 40 mins was moving time. All in all a busy day but proud of how everyone did today. See you soon in the sands again ! https://www.relive.cc/view/vPOpNJ9RJEq
  3. Hi Ashok. Don’t buy one yet. Let’s try it first. It might work as the Motorola uses the same license free frequencies.
  4. RSVP IS NOW CLOSED @Frederik Bisbjerg @Ashok chaturvedi @mathewjo @Ashy @SureshVNair @Arun Mathew @muzamil hussain @Andrei @Kailas @Ajiesh George Kannankara @Jinesh Thomas @Sajit Modiyil @Erwin van Helden @Wrangeld I am glad to be welcoming all these brand new members (Absolute Newbies) to our Offroading Family. Some have been in the sand before, while others will be tipping in their toes for the very first time. Rest assured that both me (Frederic, Little Blue Pajero), and (Richard aka Wrangeld, Little Green TJ) will do our utmost best to make you feel comfortable and help you to learn to take the first steps in deflating, establishing radio communication, and going over the first dunes with full confidence. This drive might feel a bit boring (or relaxing) for some members with more experience, but it is mainly meant to gain confidence in taking you car offroad and getting used to the settings and how the sand behaves under the wheels. YOUR BEST introduction and briefing is all bundled in our briefing video below, which has replaced our long verbal briefing we did PRE-COVID. Please take your time watching the video, and repeat watch if needed to get the full basics in 15mins. This will make the difference between struggling and making your way through the dunes easily: For the members who have clicked "Totally Agree" on the COVID19 post, thank you. For the members who haven't done so yet, please get this sorted, as this is your formal agreement that you will comply with the COVID19 precautions we have put in place. If you are unable to make it, please send us a message on the drive-topic. See you on Saturday morning !
  5. Thanks for the nice introduction @Ashok chaturvedi. Looking forward meeting you on Saturday ! Our Carnity Radio Frequencies are mostprobably the same as the Motorola TLKR T61. We wil be at Channel 1: 446.00625 Mhz which i think will be the same as your channel 1. Anyways we can test it on Saturday.

  8. Hi @Erwin van Helden The Hummer H2 is indeed a mighty big beast. Please check if your 4LO gear works, because recoveries are more difficult with heavy vehicles. I hope your overheating issues are solved as driving offroad in the summer season requires a vehicle in perfect technical condition. You will find the complete drive topic and NEWBIE BRIEFING VIDEO in the post below: Please take your time to go through it as this has replaced our verbal briefing. We will do a smaller briefing over the radio tomorrow before starting the drive. Dear @Ashok chaturvedi Welcome to Carnity Offroad Club ! As you are joining us for the first time, please introduce yourselves with the following info: 1) Which 4x4 are you driving ? 2) Any prior offroad experience ? 3) Are the vehicle's front and back towpoints in perfect condition ? In the meantime please look at the Video Briefing, and click on the "totally agree" emoji in the Covid 19 Precautions Topic. See you soon !

  16. Hi @Vijaysekhar and @Tero Vallas. This drive is strictly reserved for New joiners to the club. Please sign up or ask to be put in the waitlist of one of the Newbie drives this weekend. Thanks !
  17. Hi @SureshVNair do you mean you don’t have all the off-road essentials yet? For an Absolute Newbie drive you don't need any of those except a deflator and tire pressure gauge. We can lend you a spare radio for your very first absolute newbie drive. From second drive onward you can start buying your off-road gear like a shovel, radio, flag and compressor.
  18. Dear @SureshVNair please introduce yourself with the following information: 1) Which 4x4 are you driving ? 2) Any prior offroading experience ? 3) Are the vehicle's front and back tow points in perfect condition ? Dear @Frederik Bisbjerg @muzamil hussain @Tero Vallas @Vijaysekhar Please formally agree to the COVID19 Precautions Post below by clicking on the "Totally Agree" Emoji in that post. So this will be saved for the future drives.
  19. Good idea. I usually look straight at the tire and stop deflating as soon and the “hump” in the tyre starts to disappear. That usually brings me to 30psi, so another 15-20 seconds extra and the gauge shows 35.
  20. Hi Syed if I remember correctly I wasn’t able to put it into 4Lo, but played a bit with the clutch and went forward and backward until I got a track and drove out. This is doable with a little TJ but definitely not with a Hummer H2.
  21. The latest models of stem removal tools are magnetic, so the stem won’t fly out easily. Even then we always keep some spare stems and valves in the car.
  22. TJM has good compressors. And yes make sure you get confirmation on the 5year warranty.
