  1. You miss understood me i mean about expensive car not to buy a new expensive car for offroading, just a toy car. I always felt pajero is not strong enough in difficult situations and fragile every time small tiny problem it cost a lot to fix, that's why i thought of getting safari tank to be worry free as wt i have seen done with these cars and how much these cars get abused no other cars can deal with much abuse. That's why idea and logic i was thinking about.
  2. Ishould use 40 Even if its not fully synthetic? Bcz i found 10w40 at first but i think it was semi synthetic or not synthetic at all Please advise
  3. 5w30 SN Fully synthetic its Mitsubishi original recommended oil, its my first time to use it i heard from my pajero owners friends that's ideal with our car, lets see
  4. Thanks for the advise, i hope this beast is mine. No i am not heavy offroader yet making my self ready with a dedicated toy car as i never was comfortable driving an expensive car in offroading. But as far as i know all pajero drivers uses the push side manual option when offroading, might be the pajero not as powerful to be drove on D I hope any #pajero drivers support my statment or correct me if am wrong. I am looking forward for the newbie briefing 🙏
  5. Wt I'm looking for more of a toy car for offroading, camping and fishing however i thought that Nissan would be stronger to have as second hand regardless of the years and mileage if you compare it with same year of other mentioned brands, correct me guys if I'm wrong when we are talking about 5th generation 1998 to 2000 models if you compare it with xterra or wrangler i don't think they will be in a good condition. I feel the availability of Nissan patrol safari makes it easier to find parts in scrap yards or aftermarket copies if you can't find the original. Which makes it cheaper to fix than wrangler or xterra or pathfinders I have my eye on 2002 vtc 4800 with mileage of 250k looks like it haven't been modified looks decent price is pretty good i might be able to get for 9 to 10k i guess. Please correct my thoughts if i am not thinking with a correct logic. @baselsm83 @desertdude @Gaurav I mentioned what i have in mind in the other reply please let me know your thoughts. I definitely looking for 4800 vtc But does mileage matter with these cars? What about the automatic gear i will change gear using 1 2 3 d ? While offroading as i don't think old models has the push side manual option?
  6. Please advise i have a pajero 3.8 LWB 2010 but its maintained and it is in a very good condition as i bought it brand new back in 2010. I'm thinking of buying a second hand car only for offroading and activities Hence i thought of buying a low budget car and customize it. I believe that Nissan patrol safari is one of most powerful cars when it comes to offroading. Do you recommend Nissan patrol safari? If yes which models i should look for and which models i should stay away? I saw couple of cars but at least they have 250k in mileage if not more is that okay ? Is it necessary to get car with diff lock ? Is it necessary the car has manual shift mood as in the gear of pajero? PS: I am looking for maximum of 20k aed
  7. I just noticed that i have a partial photo of the bottle were they kept the extra oil. Is that color of the oil is normal after 50km drive?
  8. Just a quick update, fixed my oil level. I went back to the same garage to explain the problem and they have took out the extra oil it was almost 500 to 750ml What annoyed me no apology nor any warning to the mechanic that done the mistake, life keeps going and it's our responsibility to take care of our car lesson learned not to trust any garage even for a simple job as oil change.
  9. Mine is while accelerating same as @Keithryan mentioned in his main description. But its not annoying everyone at the garage were i fixed my car 5 pajeros were there and all had the same problem but they didn't even notice until i tried their cars i started by then to get convened by them that is normal but for me it was not as i bought the car brand new back then in 2010.
  10. Here is the oil level almost 2 cm above the maximum mark
  11. I forgot to mention that i changed my suspensions to dobinson suspensions stage 2 to solve the problem, but it wasn't any thing from the suspensions parts, i paid a lot but it wasn't the main problem.
  12. i shall check it soon as i didn't move it since yesterday and i shall keep you posted 👍
  13. So first I went to Habtoor for AC checkup, and I asked for a full list of items needed to be serviced it was a list of 23 items however I got quoted a nonsense quote, hence I fixed only the AC there as it was recommended by other Pajero owners. I took the list of the service items that mentioned in the quotation which was explaining every problem and which part to change (including the diff bushes) to a garage was recommended to me by another Pajero owner. and that was the first time that I fix the car outside Habtoor service. However the garage changed all these mentioned service items successfully and professionally but when it reached the Tok sounds they said we fixed what was in Habtoor diagnoses however sound still there. I went back to Habtoor they confirmed its the axel, from there I decided to go back to the garage to fix it again as I paid already to them to fix the problem but I still have it and the sound was annoying me while driving. To make the story shorter the garage mechanics came up again with 3 different things to fix/change: 1- Differential (change) 2- The black part of the crankshaft 3- Changing the axel hubs Each one of these diagnosed issues would have cost me 3k at least without labor charges I guess, here at this moment I feed up and decided it's enough I went back to Habtoor but this time I was told to go to DIP branch they are better to fix this rare issues. And it was just as simple as cleaning the axel and greasing, 400 AED they charged me with 3-month warranty if the problem appeared again they will fix it for free. PS: this took me 2 month time running between Habtoor and the garages. I hope this informations are helpful and my story will save money, time and efforts to others. Cheers to all
  14. Thank you @Gaurav please @Barry , @ @treksand @shadow79 advice i still didn't use the car for today, so far only 30km on this new oil. appreciate your feedback
  15. Thanks a lot, these are important information i started reading some of these articles but its very helpful you listed all the links together in one post appreciated 🙏
  16. Thank you, but any way to do it my self? And is it harmful and must so it ? @Gaurav
  17. I need an advise guys, i changed my car engine oil yesterday its a pajero 3.8 lwb 2010 model. At the time the mechanic done with refilling the new oil hr show me the new level and it was above the maximum mark with 1 cm i told him you put more than required he said no once you drive the car the extra oil will go in the engine oil filter. Honestly i didn't believe that however i decided to go home and check again the next day morning when the car run the oil into the engine and the filter as per his comment. However today morning i checked the oil level and it's still the same 1 cm above the maximum mark. So the question is that harmful? Should I drain the extra oil? If yes how to do that DIY ? Ps: I only drove 30km since oil changed. Appreciate your advise guys.
  18. Thanks a lot, for sure I will be there earlier than 30 minutes 🙏
  19. Guys are you still having the tok sound in your pajero? I have gone through all what you have mentioned and paid and fixed everything else other than the main cause of the sound, until i found the source of it and fixed it 💪 I tried to find out in the 5 pages comments but couldn't reach if you did find the problem and managed to fix it, if still the solution needed please confirm and i will write you a detailed explanation.
  20. Sounds good @Srikumar i shall try to look into this my self tomorrow, if i couldn't do it myself we can try to do it together at the drive day.
