Dear Desert Drivers, Thank you for signing up for the drive on Saturday in Sweihan. You can expect a well paced drive, with high dunes and soft sand. It will be FB level, but we will have some high climbs, long ridges, and many opportunities to push the throttle. With the height of the dunes, and the higher speed we may have, you will have to be totally focused on your driving, and avoid fighting the gravity in any situation. In preparation for the drive, please check your car and be sure it is fit for a long desert drive, especially if you have not driven for more than a month. Remove unnecessary items from the trunk and rear seats area, and secure properly any loose item. We have 3 wait list, so please check your agenda and let me know if you changed your plans to avoid disappointment and empty spots. Thank you !

Thank you all for joining the drive today. The foggy morning gave us enough time to prepare the cars and do a first briefing. Then we started on the track, crossing ghostly camels and by the time we reached the dunes, the fog had cleared up and every one was ready to flow. The first portion of wide open dunes was perfect for warming up, even if the quiet flow required your full attention for some higher steps, a few steep descents, and crossing some ridges where the required momentum was not always easy to assess. @Jose Luis Campos got crested on a sharp ridge, @Yurybel 's bumper faced a bush at the bottom of a dune (the bumper was saved). A few other refusals, but nothing major. After a small break (thank you @Luke K P for the tea) we continued into a more technical area until the hidden Ghafeteen Bowl. Nice place to play around and push those engines a bit.... and learning to control a steep descent. Getting out of the bowl was not easy, with a few cars getting stucked just on the outside, but once this was over, you were all focused for the last technical portion until we reached the exit track. Very well done for our first time joiners @Jose Luis Campos, @Steve Farmer @Yurybel @Hetal @Sam_ 👏. Excellent driving from the more experienced NB @Abhishek Chikara @Arvindraj @Gilberto and FB @Jeevan Koshy, thank you @ChrisW for watching the end of the convoy as Sweep, @Luke K P for correcting my lines as Second Lead, and very big thank you to @Mark B to support from the middle of the convoy. You were everywhere when needed ! Enjoy the weekend and see you soon!

We are thrilled to announce the creation of Team Dune Navigators We’re gearing up for the epic Desert Champions Trophy with @Luke K P, @Aser and @Hugo, and we’re on the lookout for our final piece of the puzzle—a fearless fifth member to join our daring sandy odyssey ! And let’s not forget—laughter is the fuel that keeps our engines running! We believe that a good mood and a dash of humour are part of every great adventure. So, if you’re up for a challenge and have the driving skills to match your enthusiasm (and a car that won’t give up at the first sight of a dune), we want YOU on our team! Ready to participate in an unforgettable sand adventure and share some laughs? Click the link below or send me a message for more details. Let’s conquer the desert together!

Hi @Sam_, thank you for signing up for the drive. As it is your first drive with Carnity, can you please - indicate if you have previous off-road experience - confirm your car has front and rear towing points - confirm you have flag, tire deflator, compressor, radio Also take the time to read this chat in full, and watch the linked videos. Any specific question let me know 05 88 62 09 42. Thank you

@Abhishek Chikara not at all a silly question. Yes it is ok to bring passengers, but be sure they understand the concept. Even if we will do a few breaks, they have to be ready to sit in the car for 4 to 6 hours, including the time to reach meeting point. Be sure also they don't distract you during the drive, you will have to keep your own focus. Also to be clear, you cannot swap the driver, only you will drive your car during the drive. Once these things are clear for all, no issue to bring passengers.

@Luke K P @Jose Luis Campos @Steve Farmer @Yurybel @Mark B @Abhishek Chikara @Arvindraj @Gilberto @Jeevan Koshy @JohanE @ChrisW Thank you for signing-up for the drive tomorrow. Please check your route to reach the meeting point. Coming from Nahel on the E95, about 300m before the final location, you will see a road to your right, with a sign "...Winter Camp..." Take that road. It is closed by a fence. Reach slowly to the fence, it will open by itself. Then continue until you see the other cars. If there is fog on the route, take your time and drive safely, we will wait for you. Don't forget to use your wipers frequently to clear your view. I will indicate the convoy order and the radio channel by the end of the afternoon, stay tuned !

@Steve Farmer, @Jose Luis Campos, @Yurybel, please take the time to watch the video attached on top of this chat, if you have not done it yet, it is very useful information for driving in the sand. Please take the time also to program your radio with the 10 Carnity frequencies. The post below contains guidelines and useful information related to radio communications. Of course, this is valid for other participants to the drive, if you have not yet done so.

Great drive indeed, and a very nice way to start the season, for a few of us (incl me) who had a long summer break. Nahel was a perfect place to restart, with a nice variety of terrains, medium size open dunes to start, bigger bowls and long climbs to push a bit those powerful engines, and a few technical portions in-between. In addition, beautiful desert views, that are always rewarding. Excellent drive from all of you, and the few obvious mistakes that happened were a good opportunity to illustrate situations that can become risky... and to practice recoveries. @Emanuel was fully experiencing his supporting new role, which he did with dedication and efficiency. @Luke K P, good to have you back, thank you for the 2nd lead, nicely executed. @Jon L you made a beautiful use of that mighty truck, following the smooth lines of @Luke K P, well done for your 2nd FB drive. Still both of you scared me a bit on that ridge, do not overestimate the capabilities of your vehicles. @Michael asir, congratulations for your first FB drive. You showed great control in the climbs and the bowls. reasonable in your expectations to climb, and taking action to steer down at the time needed. Well done. @Tharun Kumar V well driven, with your experience, you know also the capabilities of your car, and adjust your lines accordingly. @Rk ram ... what to say... even IM drivers have their moments... you have the experience, you have a powerful car, you need to keep the focus even if the drive may look "simple". Being stuck with a steep angle at the top of a high bowl, you gave the opportunity to practice a tricky recovery. @Deepak Eswar, all good, continue working on your controls, you had sometimes excessive speed or steering @Aser, excellent driving, accurate and always in control. The summer had no effect on you ! @Emanuel, thanks again for the support, very much needed today @Gaurav Soni, @Mehmet Volga, it was a pleasure to have you in the drive, thank you for joining. You can post your feedback here, and your pictures in the gallery. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you soon !
