  1. My first fewbie drive, had a great time, special thanks to @Jeepie and @Lawrence_Chehimi for helping me out when I got stuck. Looking forward to the next one!
  2. I joined Carnity this year and currently enjoying the drives and the helpful drive leads an members . . . . . . And I started to wonder more about the Club/Forum and its ownership / management / behind the scenes operations. The structure for members to develop, and also driver leads and marshalls is very clear, but couldn't find out much about the club history and ownership etc etc. Anybody able to share a brief history? Few points that got me thinking . . . . . . Do the driver leads get Paid? or is it voluntary? Who owns the Carnity Forum platform? It is just UAE specific, or are their "carnity" brands world wide? There is vast amount of different car forums within the Carnity site but many are empty or have old content > what's the history behind this?
  3. Hi @jose Shanu I dont think it is "needed" for newbie drives, but I got one fitted after my 3rd or 4th drive as at the same time, I wanted to get the skirt / body kit bits removed from the front bumper. I will try and attached some photos shortly of before and after the skirt removal. I would definitely recommend the bumper adjustment after your first couple of drives to avoid unplanned removal in the desert being specific on the bash plate, It definitely removed concern about causing any additional damage, and with that boosted my confidence to apply the gas pedal approaching crests and as a result I think my driving in the desert improved! (Edited: I have 2015 Prado)
  4. Hi @Tariq Mahmood I got a mount fixed to my roof bar, then I have quick release AOR flag pole thats easy to attach and remove at the end of the ride. Mount cost me 100 or so dirhams, many 4x4 garages offered me various solutions around this price. hope that helps!
  5. Hi all, I've been chatting to others during drives and also the Marshalls about modifications on the prado as I develop and take on more difficult drives. As I move to fewbie I thought it would be good to capture the modifications people made at this level. So what mods did you make that were esential, or you wished you did before hitting the dunes at fewbie level? What mods did you do that you feel were a waste not money and not needed at fewbie level! I've already got bash plate but considering bumper cutting. Also I'm still on maxxis HT tyres that get some interesting reactions from people when I have refusal / stuck 🤣 Thanks all!
  6. Thank you @Chaitanya D I learnt so much from your drive in the big dunes. Look forward to driving with you again 👍
  7. Hi Atif, did you ever find an answer to this?
  8. Thanks @Gaurav! And also thanks to the various Marshalls and leads for the hints and tips along the way! Excited for a fewbie drive in the new year!
  9. Absolute cracking drive today! Enjoyed mixing it up at the back in the raptor and landcruiser tracks! Possibly my most enjoyable drive to date! Thanks @Vanessa8580 !
  10. @Vanessa8580 thanks! Look forward to the drive. @Juzer Gandhi I have upgraded my flag so I have a suction mount flag that I am yet to get round to putting on Dubizzle if of interest
  11. Please can I waitlist for 2nd weekend drive. Thanks. Signed up for one on the 17th already but would like to drive on 18th also.
  12. Couple of shots from today's drive! @Mark D and @Nathan. Thanks all for great morning!
  13. Just following up on this! With both lights lit up after long hold I had Zero problems!
  14. Thanks everyone, tried this morning and is slightly different than the video so thought worth documenting for others if relevant. press once, “TRC off” lights up. press and hold: “TRC off” light is displayed almost instantly ” ‘image of skidding car’ and ‘off’ “ then appears after 3-5 seconds I’ll try this on the next drive and report back!
  15. Dash showed traction control was off. Maybe it was stability control or abs cutting in?
  16. Hi, was on absolute newbie drive this week and both I and another Prado driver faced traction control activating even though disabled by the button on the dash. Any advice for us how to fully disable from other Prado owners? Both of ours see 2015 models.
  17. As update, I’ve now got my camel compressor and hopefully programmed radio correctly! Prado is white if you want to update the list! See you all tomorrow!
  18. Hi, I’ve got 2015 Prado, front and rear tow hooks. I’ve been to desert just once and usually driving rwd BMWs in UK rain and not 4x4s. ive got old school pressure gauge and valve removal tool, along with an off-road flag. Aiming to pick up compressor tomorrow and maybe a radio ready for Friday. should we deflate tyres in the car park prior to 7am, or just wait to be told?
