  1. Going to change myself back to the waitlist , as unsure if I can fit two drives weekend.
  2. @Looper got to tell me where to get a wash that includes undercarriage for 45 aed, that seems like a great deal.
  3. A reminder to all of us that there is risk and consequences to what we do in the desert. Any of us could have been in the same situation. Thankfully we have a team of experienced people to help recover safely… I really enjoyed this drive and looking forward to seeing some of the videos. The extended ridge riding was fun. And I appreciated the opportunity to take on second lead for the reduced convoy section, on the “Blind Qudra Run”. This second was a real test of mixed terrain, unusually hard sand and fast ridges, followed by a muddy exit next to the Qudra petrol station.
  4. Feel two trips to the “jack” wash are imminent @Benjamin
  5. Hello all, hope everyone got back safe yesterday, thank you all for amazing trip, I hope to be the drivers seat next year, I had a brilliant driver in @Benjamin , but in the passenger seat I got to see the beautiful scenery. Thanks @Vanessa8580 for your safe leadership and path finding , to all the support team and everyone one in attendance from all the groups making this a memorable experience. @Bjoern hope you managed to safely use the winch.
  6. Reminds me of the new Top Gun movie, quote “It's Not The Plane, It's The Pilot.”
  7. This was an exceptionally nice drive and great introduction to the fewbie level for me. These are my key takeaways: • It was disappointing to see the amount of rubbish and debris other visitors had left in the desert, not only is this bad for the natural environment but I suspect will eventually be negative for all users of this natural habitat. • Super Bowl was good fun, wish I had another attempt, but I want to commend @GauravSoni for making the right decision at the right time, safety is always a number one priority and as that area was becoming congested and unmanaged getting out of there before an incident was a good decision. • The post bowl technical dune section of the drive was beautiful, it felt like the convoy found a rhythm with the vehicle gap and momentum that we flowed across the dunes. The level of throttle required here was interesting to feel, small adjustments was all that was required to keep momentum, for most of this section I went to manual mode and 2nd gear, as in D the Gladiator tends to stay screaming in 1st. • Ghost Village, glad I finally got to see this place, unfortunately didn’t get to meet any spirits Thanks to all for the fun drive.
  8. That cover looks pretty good, cling film would also work as a temp measure, good to use a clean paint brush too, to get all the grit out.
  9. Been considering this myself @Kailas, its a great idea, we have only taken the entire roofs of our Jeep’s once, it was fun but too warm at the time, this is an idea time of year for it. I think it would be a lot of fun but we would need to schedule a stop by the car wash with a big vacuum on the way home 😀 what do you think @Benjamin ?
  10. Looking forward to this Sunday morning fewbie drive under your lead. @GauravSoni it’s been a good few weeks since I was out so I’m expecting an arm workout 😀 Will be good to catch-up with you @Mark Gladiator I may need to change my name too 😜 Looking forward to exploring the ghost village
  11. Unfortunately I need to drop due to Dr’s appointment, I have removed myself from the drive.
