Great drive @JeromeFJ wishing it could have lasted longer . I managed a few climbs in the 4 hi / lo testing , conclusion need a lot more practice. I was thrown off guard on one bowl when I was in 6th gear near the limiter ( still two more gears to go) and I got a random esc stability control warning despite it already being disabled. what I can say with the Sandrunner it was a lot easier to climb in 4lo next drive I hope to have more time @Mark B @Zed@Patrick van der Loo looking forward to seeing the videos @Looper -

Switched to Geolanders LT tires same as @Bravoecho Still on stock rim’s so the max size I could fit was LT285/70 R17 weight is about 24kg and I find they like being around 9psi . Geolander specs I noticed a huge difference in performance but that was compared to BF Goodrich mud terrains.

@Frederic thank you for organising this wonderful drive, myself and James had a great time, appreciate the time commitment that went into this plan. It was a great day out and I’m sure for many of us a chance to see parts of the UAE we didn’t know existed. Thanks @Vanessa8580 for leading convoy 2 it was - fun drive. Apart from the scenery the frivolousness of driving with 20 psi on the sand was a new challenge, sorry @Brette that last dune before the wadi , it was already pretty churned up by the time I attempted, I wasn’t going to let it beat me and I beat it with 4th gear in 4 lo and inflated tires making sure the sand was well aerated for you. 😂

Would love to @Zed I’m even going to be staying in Abu Dhabi this weekend, but I promised my wife a nice weekend with a music of the Hamilton type rather then roaring car engines 😂

Thinking we may need a variety of Jeep configs and a single driver to test and settle the debate once and for all. regarding RPM in offroad+ modes on newer jeeps at least in D they really Like to stay on the higher side of 4000 before changing. Hence I often override in tiptronic, because off-road + mode for at least make the throttle much more responsive.
