  1. Good evening Ale, When I signed in I received the notification that I already was on another drive (today 14 feb) and could not join this one. So I made alternative plans. So my apologies, I did no know I was added to the list in the end. Hope to join your drive another time. Have fun, all!
  2. Thanks for your swift reply! You’re selling the concept It takes a bit of searching to weed out the abused ones and to self-justify as it will be an extra car, not a daily driver. On the upside, that means it will not rake in much mileage. Good for keeping maintenance cost in check. Thanks again!
  3. Out of interest, what is your general review after driving it for a while? Would you say the F150 Raptor is proving to be ageing unreliably? Or bad luck with the worked engine? Reason for asking: really want one, love the V8
  4. This is turning out to be a very good topic, with nice spin-offs: Themed drive on the car-debate with @Mike M. (count me in!) and @ChrisW hinting at the star-dunes drive, really hope that one comes up again, would love to see that..!
  5. Just adding some fuel to the fire here, for entertainment purposes (but with a grain of truth to it): Whilst the Ranger is crested and the Jeep is getting new parts fitted, the FJ just drives you home. Or -if so desired- over the next dune. (And modding options are endless, off-the-shelf superchargers included) (but in all honesty, I do somehow find myself wanting a short(ish) wheelbase 1st Gen 6.2 V8 F150 Raptor)
  6. Looking at the narrower power band, I gather the 2.0 comes with more gears?
  7. You definitely should! Shared adventures are the best adventures after all, and the campfire atmosphere is great also. Ask @khurramm as well, ever since a family drive in Lisali he has a small co-driver that doesn’t want to miss any of the action.
  8. Aaaaaaaai-nooooo! Work stuff prohibits joining… Have a blast, and post jealousy-invoking pics pls…!
  9. My daughter kept saying the desert looked very AI in Liwa. It certainly did have a certain glow to it, didn’t it!
  10. Thanks, @Luke K P! It was a beautiful drive, hard to make a bad picture there! And better yet, the pics don’t show the upload errors… Talking to @Myrko and @Carl Stanley about photos they mentioned that gallery images apparently fail to upload sometimes due to filesize and I noticed @Frederic always resizes his pictures as well. So I tried a random batch resizing app and the resized photos uploaded without any problem. Happy with that.
  11. Thank you very much @Frederic for organizing this fantastic trip, first trip out here dor us and we got to see it all from a very privileged viewpoint right behind @Srikumar, who provided great lines. Thanks also to the rest of the team @DP1011 and @Asif Hussain and all group members for making this an unforgettable shared experience with these majestic views, exciting drive and great group atmosphere. Loved the hillclimb race between @Myrko’s Defender and @Carl Stanley’s Bronco. A tight win for the Defender, but the judges are still studying the start @Glenn W thanks for the tip on how to get grey FJs to conquer the Liwa climb, another mission completed. Great experience!!
