Could you please be more specific on the model of your golf? Is it an automatic tranny? If yes, when was the last time your gear oil was replaced?

By air intake sensor, do you mean the MAF ( Mass Air Flow ) Sensor? Its usually located just after your air filter box. Why...do you have a fault with it?

A diagnostic readout will have to be done to confirm which airbag is giving the fault. After that it needs to be checked to confirm whether its a wiring fault or the unit itself.
