Disclaimer: My knowledge on the off-roading is quite limited and one must take advice from more experienced members before attempting such activities. Yesterday I drove through the mountain road of Wadi Sena. It is a paved dirt road (kuchha road) through the mountains. I came across just one car during the cross which came from the opposite side, but I presume in winter it would be quite busy. AWD car could cross it, but I think 4x4 would be recommended preferably on a AT tyres since the path is littered with rocks. The temperature hovered around 43 degrees C and I put my car in 4WD Auto and began my drive. I crossed the trail less than hour and easily. When I planned the trip, I was not aware of the altitude gain, but was in for a big surprise at the beginning of the trail itself. This is the Link to my path I took

Get ready for real mountain exploration drive, without the tarmac road and still reach some awesome viewpoint on top of Hatta Mountain range that span from Hatta Dam to Wadi Shawka. I have done this route almost 10 years ago and just found the old waypoints for entry and exits. If they are still accessible then we are in for a great surprise as drive up to the top will test your mountain climbing skills, 4x4 handling, low gear power, braking and starting on a steep incline with slipping stones and sweaty palms. Plan to start from Al Munay area on Sharjah-Kalba road and detour towards Qur and then start climbing up and reach to the top and have some amazing views of UAE on one side and Oman on another side. We plan to end the descend near Buraq dam and visit that place if water still there. I also have plan B and C, in case if an above plan fails and that's why I'm calling it an exploration drive. When: 14 Dec 2018 Meeting time: 1:00 PM, a convoy will move sharply at 01:15 PM Where: Al Munay's Mosque GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/sUpbcCpQo492 Level of a drive: Fewbie - Intermediate All level Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance Please RSVP on the Calendar

The Islamic New Year is supposed to be falling on Thursday, 21 September, so lets take advantage. Plus with the weather getting better it will be only cooler on top. The RAK mountain range which always are few degrees lesser than the other areas. Get ready to enjoy some of best snaky curved road making up to the to this grand Hajar mountain range. With last time's experience we can reach close to the top to enjoy the view from both sides of the mountain and enjoy the sea view. This drive will offer plenty of photo opportunity for the shutterbugs, so make sure to carry your best camera and long range lens. Plan is to start late afternoon and finish whenever we feel we have had enough to escape the heat and yet have our holiday dose of fun and adrenaline. With this timing we will also eliminate the usual rush at this newly developing tourist site. So please be on time, as we are really pressed on time so if you are late then you have to catch up by yourself. If anybody would like to bring along snacks, drinks, BBQ, playing cards, music box or any means of entertainment and fun is most welcome to join. As ramadan starting in few days, wondering if some of you guys want to plan some drive during upcoming Eid holidays from 17 July 2015. It can be day trip or overnight with bbq and camp out in some nice mountain (few degrees lesser than the city). Any thoughts, ideas or initiation is welcome.
