@Nagarjun S after consulting with some of the seniors, they recommended the following while driving your Prado: 1. Keep the Center-Diff Lock engaged while driving. It will give you a better 50/50 power ratio between front and rear. 2. Use Sport mode (if you have that option). It disables the ECO mode function. Thanks @Glenn W and @Rob S for your help!

Congratulations @Abdullah A. for making it into our member of the week spotlight! Perhaps very few people know that you joined Carnity in 2011! That makes you one of the oldest members on the forum! Well done! See you soon in the sand! PS Please share a photo here of your Pajero! It's hard to find one in the gallery

With the ongoing regional conflict affecting oil prices and creating uncertainty around fuel costs, Iβm curious to hear from EV owners and potential EV buyers in Dubai. Have the recent events made owning an electric vehicle more attractive to you compared to a petrol car? For existing EV owners: Have you noticed any impact on your daily EV charging routine or charging costs? Are public charging stations becoming busier? Do you feel more confident owning an EV during periods of rising fuel prices? Have you faced any issues related to charging availability or infrastructure? For those planning to buy a car, are higher petrol prices making you consider switching to an EV or hybrid? Would be interesting to hear real experiences from EV owners in Dubai and across the UAE.

Hey guys - had a great drive with you all this afternoon, thank you! A prompt arrival of everyone in good time saw us get started a little ahead of the 3.30 planned start and we made good pace across Al Hayer initially. This area was packed with wildlife, including camels, gazelle, and a very large vulture. It was also stunningly hot at 46 celsius, and some very soft sands around We soon pushed on across the E95 and into the Sweihan area. The terrain changed - less vegetation, larger dunes and increasing levels of technical difficulty. We kept the pace, mixing time in the dunes with time to recover on the sabkhas. A final push on some flowing dunes and we finished the drive. There was a good level of comms and focus throughout the drive; with minimal refusals and no stucks. Good work all and thank you @Ale Vallecchi for supporting.

Thank you @Andrew John Melvill for a great first lead drive today, for all the support team, and everyone that joined in today. Thank you to those who got shovels out to assist me with my 'beached wale' refusal and to @M.Seidam for parting recovery wisdom in such situations. The take-aways were: 1) Which direction to move? Determine the vehicle's centre of gravity in relation to the ridge line to help decide whether to go forward or backward. On long wheelbase vehicles like the ford ranger, the centre of gravity is forward from the vehicle mid-point, around the front door handles. 2) How to dig? Remove sand from the vehicle's centre line to form a V-shape under the chassis towards the wheels. Do not dig under the wheels as that will make them sink in more. 3) When to stop digging? The goal is to free the chassis and a good way to tell is by looking if you can see through from one side to the other (front-back). Hope to see everyone again soon.

Thanks everyone who joined today! The sand was not very forgiving, which is to be expected as we are now in the smack middle of summer. Nevertheless it was a great morning out and the refusals and stucks are totally normal in this learning stage (and believe me we do like dealing with them) Thanks to @Diego and @Vanessa8580 for the help today you were all in good hands. See you soon back in the sand! You can post any photos you made in our drive gallery: Newbie - Sand Starts Here - Nahel - Abu-Dhabi - 19 July 2026 - Carnity.com
