Car magazines

Does anyone still read magazines and if so, which ones and where do you get them?

I love reading stuff on the internet but back in the day, magazines used to be a real event. You waited a month for the next issue, made your way to the nearest town to pick them up and spent the next 2 weeks sitting on the toilet reading them, staring at the pictures and picking up as much information as you could  

I used to buy Max Power, Fast Car, Cars and Car Mechanics, Classic Car, Auto Trader, Classic Ford, Fast Ford, plus whatever else I could get my hands on. I started collecting around 1994 and built up a pretty respectable collection including lots of obscure French, German and Japanese stuff. I gave them all away when I came to UAE though. 

The only one I’ve really seen freely available here is wheels and I didn’t find it too impressive.

I totally agree Barry that we lack a lot of car magazine here and Wheels is or was the only one that came close to the motoring enthusiast. I used to collect Wheels edition and given up after few years when I realized it contains more of commercials and advertorial than the real motoring information.
