Nice spot in Al Quoz this evening. 
 

Anyone know why it has standard plates rather than classic plates? They stopped building them in 1976.

Probably because

1) Classic plates are more expensive

2) I think there is a restriction on the amount of km it can be driven on the road each year

@Barry, when I create my classic garage collection, the Interceptor FF will be front and centre. This has been for years my dream car and I promise you I can hear the Jensen engine note thrumming away from 200 meters. 

Can only imagine that this has new plates because of the modifications (I guess that the VIN was not used?) because this one does not look totally original. They have kept that unique back window which is a complete design masterpiece in my view. Thanks for sharing the photo - amazing how small it looks next to that Q7. As a kid I thought that the Jensen was absolutely massive!

A FF would definitely be a nice thing parked up outside. In this same blue colour. This is the second one I’ve seen in Dubai. I saw a silver one on the back of a recovery truck maybe 6 weeks ago. Pretty surprising given they only made 4500 ish. Even back home in all my years of going to car shows I’ve only seen 2-3. 
 

If it’s still there in the morning I’ll try to get some more shots.

Went back to take another look and it’s gone. Only to be expected. It’s not the sort of thing you want to leave out in the sun for days.

I guess classic plates apply only in Sharjah. Definitely the cost of registering them is more and you can only drive it on certain days. It cannot serve as your daily driver. Only the driver would know the reason for it not being crowned with a classic number plate, but these are my guesses.
