I notice that people generally buy the shock absorbers and struts. But don't really know why! Can anyone tell me

Most of the drivers think that replacing the shocks and struts helps in improving the ride control and handling. But its not actually that. The condition of struts and shocks has nothing to do with the ride safety.

I remember my case, when out of show off i changed the shock absorbers in my car as i thought its cool and will improve my ride. But nothing happened. The ride was still the same.
