Wrangler 2000 head crack

I have a wrangler automatic 2000 model purchased 2nd hand. The engine head had cracked and the water and oil is mixed!!!

My question is is it better to get a used head and get the engine overhauled? How much would it cost? Or get a used engine.

Also the gear seal is leaking..

Any suggestions. Friends?l

Buying used head and rebuilt whole engine with minor tit bits like piston rings, seals, belts etc is better for long run. It might cost same to buy used engine, but again u dont know the past and how much life is remaining. So if you built something by yourself then you be rest assured that its solid for coming years.

I have done same in past and have driven for 3+ year without any tension before i sold the car.
