the steering wheel wobbles after 40kmph

what could be the reason ?

Get all 4 tires wheel balancing check, as one or more must have fallen off the weight and lost the balance. Usual its shake after 80 and then stabilize and then after 110 as a death wobble. In your case it sound more than one tire is out of balance.
