shock question

the front right shock of my 1997 tire has gone bad and my mechanic says that i should be changing all 4 of them

but i beg to differ that i should wait for them to first fail so that i can change them all.

what should i do

Mechanic is partially right in order to get you maximum even comfort if you change all four.

But money spend vs comfort gain isnt quite much to change other tree too. Change will be very negligible as a new shocks and old used shocks.

Better get change one and see any discomfort than change one more in front and see if it helps, if not change rear both too.

Atleast with this you will be sure that you are spending because its needed.
