what is this dry powder on the AC vent

a dry powder like substance is in my AC vent its black in color and its of a concern to me as we breath that air. its not dust for sure and i get the car cleaned everyday form inside out then what could it be?

the black powder can be the AC filter is not clean so first see if the filter is clean and then we can take it from there

its best to service the AC on regular intervals specially in summers so this will itself eliminate half of the problems that you have or may have in future.
