steering is hard

the steering oil needs to be changed according to my mechanic when the steering was difficult move but my thinking says that it could be more

could be the power steering fluid, could also be the steering pump, or the hydraulic lines....how many km's on the car?

Did you do any adjustments in the steering gear or linkages? If you didn't you might want to check the steering gearbox and pump. It is possible that you steering is switching to manual because the power steering is failing.
