Dose the Harmonic Balacer need changing as well?

Dose the harmonic balancer needs changing as well in my 2007 Peugeot?

when i could hear squeaking in my suspensions i got them checked so now i have been advised to change the Harmonic balancer but i want 2nd opinion for this

Harmonic Balancer is just like the rest of the car parts that needs replacement.

if it is worn off then it needs replacement.

Why is the harmonic balancer used in the car. it is installed in all cars?
