Everything you need to know before joining your first Carnity desert drive.
01 What is Carnity?
Carnity is a UAE off-road community where 4x4 owners learn, explore and enjoy desert driving together in a safe and structured environment.
Whether you've never driven on sand before or already have off-road experience, Carnity gives you a clear path to develop your skills through organized desert drives led by experienced community members.
You don't need a heavily modified 4x4 or previous desert-driving experience to get started.
With Carnity you can:
- Learn desert driving in a supportive environment
- Join organized off-road drives across the UAE
- Progress through increasingly challenging drive levels
- Learn from experienced off-roaders and marshals
- Meet other 4x4 and outdoor enthusiasts
- Access drive discussions, photos and community resources
02 Can I join?
If you have a suitable 4x4 and want to learn or improve your desert-driving skills, most likely yes.
You don't need previous off-road experience. Complete beginners are welcome and start with our Newbie drives, where you'll learn the fundamentals of driving safely in the desert.
Before your first drive, you'll need:
- A valid UAE driving licence
- A suitable 4x4 with low-range gearing
- Proper front and rear recovery points
- A vehicle in good mechanical condition
- The required basic off-road and safety equipment
- To complete the Carnity Newbie briefing

Your Carnity driving journey
As you gain experience and develop your off-road skills, you'll progress through Carnity's driving levels.

Experienced off-roaders who want to give back to the community can take the next step with Team Carnity.
Team Carnity trains experienced members to support other off-roaders, assist with convoy management and recoveries, and develop the skills required to eventually lead desert drives themselves.
03 How much does it cost?
Carnity operates through membership plans that give you access to organized off-road drives and the Carnity community.
Your membership gives you access to eligible drives based on your experience level, together with Carnity's structured progression system and community resources.
Before joining, you're welcome to explore Carnity, look at upcoming drives and learn how everything works.
When you're ready to start driving, choose the membership option that suits you.
We'll take you through a simple New Member Onboarding process to check your vehicle, equipment and preparation before your first desert drive.
04 What do I need?
You don't need to build an extreme off-road vehicle before joining Carnity.
Your vehicle
- Low-range 4WD
- Front and rear recovery points
- Good mechanical condition
- Suitable tyres in good condition
Your equipment
Before your first drive, you'll need some essential off-road and safety equipment.
Carnity will guide you through exactly what is required during your onboarding, so there's no need to buy everything before you understand what you need.
Your knowledge
You'll complete the Carnity Newbie Briefing, which covers the fundamentals of safe desert driving, convoy procedures, communication and recovery.
That's exactly what the Newbie level is for.
05 How do I book my first drive?
Once you've joined Carnity and completed your New Member Onboarding, you're ready to book your first desert drive.
Look through the upcoming drives for one marked Newbie or suitable for All Levels.
Check the location, meeting time, drive description and requirements.
Select Going to reserve your place. If the drive is full, select Waitlist.
Before the drive, check the event for the meeting point, convoy information and updates from the drive team.
Arrive on time with your 4x4 and required equipment. Your Carnity team will take it from there.
