  1. I have seen in so many countries that drivers are driving with the permanently installed dash-cam in their car to protect their innocence on that one ugly day. I have been thinking of same to use it here and was discussing which one to buy and then one of the colleague pointed that it's not allowed in the UAE. Wanna ask you guys if it's really allowed here or not as I don't find anything objectionable to record on-road traffic.

  2. I personally feel this will never be allowed. Moreover I feel this will reveal how many inconsiderate and uncivilized drivers drive in here including some big expensive shiny cars with fancy 4 digit number plates. It's the quick rich drivers makes lot of nonsense of tailgating, flashing constantly, cutting 5 rows in less than 1 seconds, jumping the queue. On the other hand biggest guys who drive 2 or 3 digit they drive very humbly and respectfully on second or third lane. How often you have seen civic, accord, altima or camry drivers doing much of non-sense: 1 in 100......!

  3. Hi All, I have 2004 BMW E60 525i Japan spec. Unfortunately the radio signal range is different on my car and needs resetting. Re-setting can be done through plugging computer to the car and doing necessary coding. If anyone knows any garage or person in Dubai/Sharjah who does this for a reasonable price, kindly ask you to post details below (name, phone number, location). I am trying to get the cable and learn the software on my own, but it will take time. Meanwhile, your help will be appreciated.

  4. Standard DIN is 2 inch tall, and Double DIN is 4 inch tall. DIN is the holder in which your current radio sits. If it's a single DIN radio with old style big push buttons, then you can get GCC specs radio from Sharjah used spare market for less than 50-100 AED than breaking your head to program the frequency and spending money on garage or required cables for DIY. If it's a Double DIN, then it's awesome as with this excuse you can upgrade that to more modern player that comes with big screen entertainment and multiple connectivity options wih USB and Bluetooth to play any media. Cost from 300-500 AED with installation.

  5. you can buy directly from their website they charge 80-90 USD extra for international shipping to UAE. I don't know anyone here selling Arnott, secondly they do provide lifetime warranty for their products in US and EU, so I assume it will def last much longer than any OEM shit that cost fortune here. I advise same to my colleague who drive BMW X5 and since last three years he has not complained of ballons that he use to change every 15-18 months.

  6. LONG ANSWER: Govt and police like the idea but not sure to how to deal with privacy issue that is the main concern to not to allow any filming in public be it from dash cam or from your iphone. I believe (may be I am wrong) proposal have been submitted to higher authorities and govt bodies to reconsider this idea and we all are waiting. Even you show something to police they will not look into it and also it may not go against you unless it comes as a written complaint from the person you filmed. It's too complicated.......phewwwww. SHORT ANSWER: No, it's not allowed at the moment as of 5 March 2016.

  7. Amazing and unbelievable performance by KEN BLOCK'S GYMKHANA EIGHT in Dubai. ********Really an ultimate playground for them******* Hats off to Dubai, for arranging such a generous and planned setup for this performance. Unbelievable to see Sheikh Zayed Road emptied out for this stunt, so as Burj Khalifa area and Madinat Jumeirah. Never seen any other city in the world to host this level of Car enthusiast's performance. AWESOMENESS

  9. In my car Navigation, radio, music, TV all is connected togetehr through iDrive system. There are some multimedia upgrades possible, but they cots money and limit cars original functions. Below is the picture typical to my cars saloon. All I want is someone who has an Inpa K+Dcan cable and laptop with software, who can enter the car computer system and reset my radio setting so that I can use it here in Dubai.

  11. @shumarkerDo you know where to buy Arnott parts locally? My car's suspension is Leaking and the compressor is always at work just to keep the car balanced, I'm afraid that it won't be long before the compressor goes bad as well... T.i.a.

  12. I agree with Futureshock in all what he said, very well written. if it is once or twice a month "normal" off-roading, without jumps & hard landings/ditches ... Etc.. then go with the cheap options, ironman, ARB OMEmu, rancho, entry fox.. They all do the job, will be a real improvement over stock always.. Actually it improves on road handling also if you chose the kit to match your style.. Go to radlfo/King/icon if you are serious off-roader & enjoy going crazy 🌹

  13. Thanks futureshock999, for your experience sharing, I really like your word of wisdom a lot "how badly you want it" which is very true and practical. As after seeing suspension mods from 3k -15k I am still confused on what I want it and more than anything I think I dropped the idea inside my heart after seeing big expense for once a month / two month off-road drive.

  14. Totally depends upon the vehicle and usage. For a Wrangler, Kings first, although Radflo is the new hotness. For an FJ, ICON makes the best value pre-tuned multi-shock (2 per wheel) setup, but a case can be made for Kings or Radflo if only using 4 shocks. In any general sense, Kings and Radflos are really designed for high-speed desert racing, Icons a close third, with Fox a bit after them. The OMEs, Ironmans, and the rest are OK, but most don't offer a separate oil/nitrogen charge reservoir, which you want if hitting them hard in the desert at high speed. Nor are they as tunable as Kings, Icons, and Radflos. But let's be clear- you asked about "the best", and that ain't cheap. The best desert shock setups (8 Kings total including 4 multi bypass) will run at least 50,000 AED. Phase I of my FJ ICON setup just cost me 18,000 AED, and to add the Phase II multi bypass front shocks and rear bump stops will cost me another 12,000, at least. And I skipped the high cost options like solid aluminum billet upper control arms and matching lowers...it could have been a lot higher. So, you may want to consider what you mean as "best". And how badly you want it.
