  1. On the hunt for a new radio, the 4 year old mechanic in our house got hold of my UV-5R and now its UV-Nothing... Anyway, any recommendation on the UV-9R which claims to have a better range? - is it worth the extra 20aed? - got quoted 120aed for the 9R vs 100aed for the 5R at DM of course.

  2. Steering rack rebuilt is indeed common. I remember getting it done for our Xterra and ended up around 800dhs. Depending on the type of shop and location this price will vary.

  3. Hi @Imran Asghar It is difficult situation if the spark plug and the cylinder head are seized due to high temperature. If you force it, it may break the thread on the cylinder head. Try to spray penetrating oil like WD40 bit more and soak it overnight. To prevent this happen in the future, we normally apply some anti-seized compound on every thread that exposed to extreme high temperatures like spark plug, exhaust manifold, turbocharger etc.

  4. Better range I don’t really believe, and would potentially only benefit the listener 😅. UV5R was known for lots of static, there’s a small software hack that solves this, I can send you more info if you need. I think the UV9R won’t be having this issue.

  5. You can start with a door pillar rubber seal and beading, remove and re-fix it again with a firm hand to test again. Sometimes car inspection guy removes it to check for an accident and doesn't push it properly with a firm hand.

  9. That's a good point of concern, but hoping and trusting Toyota and LC flagship it will perform well. Turbos and Supercharge need to be perfectly tuned with an engine to kick at the right time for off-road use. Single turbo mostly has a lag, this lag reduced a lot on the supercharger and then twin turbo surpasses with newer tech. Ram TRX is SC Ford Raptor is Twin Turbo Raptor R is SC So going with regular applications and competitors opting for off-road applications, I am more than sure TT in LC will perform well in sand too. @essam ibrahim Is your LC is Twin Turbo? Please share your views on power usage in demanding off-road situations.

  11. Best way is to get to good engineering (lathe) workshop and ask them to remove it. Still if they break, they have a opposite thread drill bit kind of tool with which they can drill on broken head and remove it.
