  1. dont forget the air filter, check it out every now and then. all i do is flash a light through it and if i cant see through it it means its heavily clogged. Takes a few minutes to solve a minor problem.
  2. Hey fella! hope i can help. firstly and fore-mostly, it does not sound like you are running low on gear-box oil. If this was an issue related to the quantity of gear-box oil, your gear-box would most likely be equal to scrap by now. the SMG hydraulic fluid level could be low due to a leak in the system but again, that would manifest itself in shifting problems in all gears most of the time. you could still check it as a precaution anyways. so basically, the only realistic possibilities you are left with are a faulty SMG pump unit, a faulty SMG control unit, a faulty SMG shift unit, faulty SMG gear position sensors, or an internal/mechanical fault in the gear-box.
  3. I don't exactly know about the process but know that if you might end up resetting everything inadvertently which is not suggestive. Make sure you follow the exact process of resetting the Oil change light or have someone do it for you ... instead of resetting everything.
  4. I tried buying a second hand car once ... found his listing online, called him up, set up a meeting, met him and checked out the car, fell in love with the car, discussed rates and finalized in the next talk and by the third call the guy disappeared. lol. People can be soo unpredictable. good luck
  5. Hi brothers would you believe me if i told you that I moved to a ford explorer after i got tired with bmw ... and I am a happy owner for five years now. I bought a bmw when they were the best cars in the market in the early twenties and was a lucky owner for the first two years. My luck went down so fast and so bad that money just kept pouring out for the car in one way or the other. Even today when i see happy bmw owners I tell them there will come a point in their lives when they will despise the car like i do now. The people at BM really need to take it up a notch with their cars or they should just stop claiming themselves as the best.
  6. OMG!! this is absurd. my power terrain warranty would not even cover it if it really is a radiator issue.
  7. hello friends. i have a 2008 BMW X3. a few months ago the transmission started getting a little sticky but i kinda ignored it. then shifting gears got increasingly harder. now theres a horrible shuttering kinda sound the transmission makes every time you shift gears on top of the fact that the shifting itself requires serious muscle. my son tells me i am heading towards a total transmission failure. have any other X3 owners ever been through anything like this?? any suggestions??
  8. Hello, First of all - love this website, thanks carnity for creating the perfect source of information and communication for us car owners in the UAE. One of my headlights on my car is out, and I think its a fuse problem since the light won't turn on even if i replace it. Can anyone where I can find the fuse for these headlights ... can't seem to figure it out. Thanks
  9. NO.... I dont think its a hassle ... its something pretty basic ... just go to the navcoder website and download the appropriate version. Thereon, it will guide you through the program and will help you with the language settings. I am sure there is a step by step also available online. Give it a search.
  10. hey Joy!! u need navcoder. you can look it up ... it's a windows application to reprogram the BMW navigation system. I am assuming you don't know german at all and wish for it to be changed to another language. This application will help you do just the same.
  11. Thanks for the help everyone ... i think the 760 is very impressive but am inclined more towards the 750 where the fuel economy is 19 mpg ... sounds like a good average ... along with the automatic stop-start system.
  12. Hi guys, I want to buy a 7 series petrol but i want to have a car which gives me good fuel economy ... can any bmw owner please advise me which 7 series model to buy? ... 740 or 750 0r 760? i have searched online about this matter but different reviews are giving me different choices so wanted to ask someone who has had a personal experience with this series.
