I use to have the same problem on my FOrd Escape 2009 an dlater found out that there was a gear oil leak and the oil use to be too low which inturn causes the car to Jerk at stops or mostly incline... it freaked me out after that cos if the Gear box gets damaged its gonna be too expensive ...
