If the parking brake is loose, then mechanic can adjust it with adjuster bolt behind the brake. If adjuster reached to last limit then you need new brake pad for parking brake. Wire has nothing to do with effectiveness of the parking brake, someone might have mislead you mate.

Since last week, i am noticing that my Ford Explorer has been ocassionally heating up slightly when i hit gas more than its required like on instant hit on redlights in day time. I know temperature has gone up since a week and may be due to that its acting this funny. Its usual time line is after 100k km or after 10 year depending on timing belt condition and how hard rpm car has been driven in past (doof doof). Both is closer to your present situation (9 years and 85k kms), better get it change if you intend to keep this vehicle for long. Few kms before is better than later.

Check the brake pads and brake rotors, something must be terribly wrong there. If not then you should doubt the differential is exploded and its pinion is blocked with some metal part from inside. Change whole diff assembly. Big expense.

These are the issues of past my friend, nowadays all cars whether american, european and japanese comes with fantastic AC system that work and last in Dubai hot weather. Even korean cars these days making excellent AC system that work very well in Dubai hot hot climate. So dont worry on Ford cooling system, its all good. If you buy GCC specs car it will be fitted with better and powerful HVAC system.
