Winch is easily available from Ramy trading or Icon Auto. They both do good job in installation too.

Hey Mac, thanks for the tip. Is it 4.6 engine or 4.0 L engine?
-
Good stuff, Farnley. Congrats.

Its usual cause is ABS modulator unit itself. Its BOMB EXPENSIVE to change, so better plonk used one from scrap and all three amigos or this christmas light will go away. At the end of day its telling you its ABS is at fault and because of which Traction control cant perform while hard braking as ABS is missing, and because of same ABS Hill decent control cant apply constant brake if you go down hill. So ABS is the the main culprit.

Sky is the limit in reply to how high you can go? (your subject line).....lolol. Just joking my friend. For lifting LR2 sensibly that give offroad benefit without compromising safety would be: 2 inches or Max 3 inches. Anything beyond 3 inches is involving risk in desert while side sloping and sharp turns on road.

Thats sad to hear all this ordeal. Landies arent that bad, and you dont loose heart so far. Its just that your bad time is very good and bringing all past ugly shit at the same time. Take it easy, give some money to donation and im sure you will have perfect car back in your parking very soon. Good luck man.

Gear is stuck on the first gear i can get any headsup?
khalidh replied to wardhan's topic in Land Rover Defender Forum in UAE
Check the gear lever and connecting rod, that might be stuck under that gear lever rubber pouch. Happened something similar in my old cruiser and and culprit was the small socket type of metal part that sits right below the lever and on top of gear housing. -
Thats a good progress Farnley. About tires, i can suggest Cooper ATR (Not STT as they are quiet heavy for stock engines) or second best i would think BF Goodrich AT. Seen few friends praising Yokohama Geolander too, but never used them to recommend them to anyone. I will leave other to add more from there experience. Good luck with your rig, post some pics when you have time.

Welcome aboard, Sharky. You look like real tight follower on Landies. After all they were the first to bring 4x4 in UAE, back in those days.

defender stalling ocassionally
khalidh replied to lrgeek's topic in Land Rover Defender Forum in UAE
Doesnt matter, check all oil leak around ecu and wiring loom. -
Whats a cost to swap with 4.6? Is that P38A engine he is suggesting right? Its a kind of good option while spending so much, why not upgrade to mighty one. Depends totally on price. Well to be honest if you need engine swap, do you really need beea??? There are many good and cheaper options are there in less than 1000 dhs for full swap.

Head Gasket fixing is the most ugly part. It would cost around 3k - 4k with parts and labor (outside agency). Is your truck have been overheated to full extent??? What make you think that it has blown head gasket??? Tremendous power loss? Oil and Water mixed in radiator expansion bottle? Engine oil turned milky? Overheating?
