  1. Maximum age limit of vehicle to import in UAE and Oman is no limit, however in other GCC countries like Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait is maximum 5 years old. Hope you are aware that importing tax is 5% of the car present value paid to the Dubai customs. I am not sure about any restriction on RHD, better write a detail mail to RTA (www.rta.ae) road and transport authority of Dubai and check from the real people if there is new law on said restrictions. I am saying this as many times, new law rumors comes 6 months - 2 years prior and in end law never get passed or get delayed. SO its good to check before you drop your idea. Regarding defender (as a one strong exception), every time i go to sharjah I see some japanese import (late 90's) defender and even the RHD sometimes, Sharjah is a neighboring state to Dubai for good and cheaper car fixing alternates. I am sure when you will visit Sharjah industrial area with your ride, you will love it. Good luck.
  2. Gulf star in shj, sells upgraded kit. But be ready its expensive too.
  3. Enoc has Aero one to hang in the car, last quiet long for two weeks at least. Got one free few months back and using same again, it cost 8-10 dhs.
  4. First Query: Gulf star in shj sell nice original rims at lower price than Tayer. Second Query: For real maps and working discs Al Tayer only, sorry. Pirated one's comes for 100 dhs but not work all time, seen few thread here a while back. Third Query: Gulf star in shj Fourth Query: You can get duplicate key made for 250 dhs from shop under old Burjuman parking, or in Lamcy behind food court.
  5. Beautiful RR and even nicely kept. Good luck mate. PM me last price, if its still not sold.
  6. Thanks guys very useful btw I did see a post with a lot of Abu dhabi contacts. They may be useful too
  7. I doubt that gear solenoid switch is the one making that noise. If car is old, then this semi electrical conductor is known to make such trouble at varies conditions. It wont do any harm but if you still concerned then get it changed. I believe in something that if its working then let it work and dont touch and pin point small small issues.
  8. Thats a nice piece of info for me. Thanks Gas.
  9. Sorry Gas, its a safety issue in all LR that they want you to switch off engine before petrol fill ups. In my case i use to keep two keys and give spare one to petrol attendant. lololol. Glad to hear that you sorted the window thingy.
  10. Good luck Gas, keep us posted what comes out.
  11. Pretty new here, but we should stop bickering about. And start supporting it, as honestly speaking its quite rare and convenient to have all these platform coming up for end user here. If we don't support it, we might regret later. My two cents.
  12. Hi Gas, Electrical issues are the most difficult and expensive to fix (IMHO). To start with, first of all lets just spend some time and make sure all relays and fuses are intact and not faulty. Then check for any visible loose cabling overall and make sure to secure them nicely to eliminate many issues. 1. Central Lock is not working Looks like central lock device is gone bad as per the year of car, its the most easiest fix to get another central lock from 150 dhs onwards from any accessories shops in deira, shj or wherever you like. 2. Driver's Side Window not moving (Neither up Nor Down) Open the inside the flap by sitting down on floor so that you can see those hidden screws. And then check the connections at the motor. If connections are fine, then try to power it externally to see if motor is bad or the circuit at control switch is bad. Either of two needs some love. 3. Passengers Side Windows could be slide down from Driver's Control but could not be closed up unless from Passenger control buttons Clear issue of control switch is bad, to add on this why not open the whole window control unit and check the circuits first and then proceed further with indications. 4. While Off-roading Radio (CD) cuts off from time to time mainly when hitting a dune or a hump... All i can say it has loose connection, probably (not sure though) at the radio power supply, pull it out and see if wires at back is completely secured. While doing this, its worth checking the connection at battery itself and cleaning its terminal 100% with hot water so that main terminal connection is good. Also check for earth wire is in place or not, as most of things you mentioned could be because of faulty earth wire or loose battery cable. Good luck and before you spend money make sure you are spending in right direction, not changing kidneys or lever for headache. lol.
  13. Which oil is leaking in ECU wiring, any idea? Thats a brilliant insight, i will do under the car with sniffer dog today. lol.
  14. Swap some relays in box before jumping for big money, as these unexplanable issues cause the electric glitches only in my mind. Swap gearbox or engine management relays to EAS or fuel pump and see if it happen.
