Thanks Guys, that's quiet a handful info you gave. Let me check with service adviser and come back if Ford still honor the warranty as my car has just finished the warranty last month.
-
I got my 2012 model Ford Mustang serviced from Al Tayer 2 months back in warranty and after the service is completed, my service adviser advised that the battery might be dying shortly as he has seen some greenish color buildup (may be called corrosion) on the black side battery terminal. Last month my car battery died and that service adviser prophecy came true. Got the new battery changed with slightly more amp as I couldn't get the same amp battery. Today under my office while helping another Mustang to jump start his car I have seen same greenish buildup on the black terminal again. Im curious to understand why this is happening with 1 month old battery or may be something else is wrong with my car electrical system. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.
-
I would still say try to jump start the car and see if it starts. Lights and stereo working doesn't signify that battery has a full cranking amp, as dead or weak battery can run all stuff except crank the engine. It's worth testing the jump start imho.

Will this 2016 Pajero sport be available in UAE....?
Gaurav replied to koray's topic in Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Forum in UAE
With above shape and design Pajero has definitely come a long way in superior design, elegant looks, detailing and above all awesome ground clearance, which is expected from any capable offroad SUV. Have you checked with Habtoor lately if they start receiving this, as in Aug-Oct all dealers get the inventory for next year models and start dispatching them before year-end. I would love to know it's availability and price tag.- 4 replies

Cayenne has 4 shock absorbers installed: 2 big ones for lift gate and two small for rear glass door. The day same happened to me I realize that I can open the rear glass door separately without opening the tailgate (Porsche loves to surprise). For checking which part need replacement just lift the glass door and see if it stays fine, then you just need to replace two for lift gate only which is slightly expensive than the glass ones. If glass door also sags then you need to change all four. You can get original parts from Porsche and get it changed from outside workshop as there is no brainer involved and you will save lot of waiting time with the dealer for such a small job.

Hmm, I hear what you saying but blaming Nabooda is not quite right. As I had Cayenne turbo in the past and Nabooda was excellent with me, they even banged my car in service bay on driver fender side and repaired it with original part and paint for free. Off course having Porsche was expensive like 2300 dhs for minor service and 8-10 k for major but in return they always offered me five star service with first class waiting area and courteous service advisers.

Not every EAS beep tells that balloon has been failed. It could be compressor failing (in process) or it's taking long time to fill up than normal, compressor overheated, some height sensor freaked out of some new leak develop in the air hose, and off course air ballon failed (most typical) one. Considering two months install - very less likely chance for that, but there is a slight possibility.

Thinking of upgrading wife car to mid-size SUV. She is housewife and recent mom for 11 months old infant. She rarely use car for grocery runs and short visit around Dubai. Im looking for 09-10 model within 50-60k AED budget hence definitely prefer car that has more durability and reliability after 5 years of age. Should be super safe (for sure) and comfortable and spacious enough for accommodating baby seat, pram and shopping bags. I had Mercedes ML500 few years back and I can relate it's experience, but I have no clue on other competing options. Appreciate some collective feedback here. Cheers.

May be it's time to upgrade lol. It could be the fuel sending, as many suspect it as a first go. For more things to doubt watch this video: If it's one of slight fluctuation occasionally, ignore it. If it's regular and impacting your driving get it check with OBD scanner.

What to look for when buying 2nd Hand
Gaurav replied to Jasper's topic in Porsche Cayenne Forum in UAE
From my experience of past ownership of Cayenne Turbo for two years, please look into below items: Turbo is too fun to drive than V8 or GTS. Turbo shouldn't have too long lag before hitting hard the throttle, anything more than 1 sec lag is bad. For air suspension: Start the car with windows down and AC off, you should be hearing an air compressor prime from front passenger side (outside) that should stop within 10-20 secs max. If that lasts longer over 30 secs means weak compressor. Wait in parking with car started and if air compressor kicks in again then suspension is loosing air and need some air bag replacement shortly. Lift the car with air suspension setting up and down and then see how fast compressors work and stop. Under 1-2 minutes is good. Once you buy Cayenne, don't play with height control too often and just set at low setting perfect for highways and cargo usage. Playing with height too much cause additional wear on whole suspension system and you will require some parts change more often. Never drive any Porsche less than quarter tank, as they have super sensitive fuel system that get check engine light with slightest of sedimentation. All Cayenne models prior to 2012 had a weird coolant tubes made out of plastic that runs near the engine and breaks due to heat. It's a GCC car recall that has been fixed by dealer at no cost. Porsche designed these plastic tubes to run close to engine to retain engine heat for long in colder countries. Check if that has been done with dealer in past or not. If not then you might be paying for that big job that require half engine compartment opening (due to weird design) and replacing those plastic to metal tubes (cost 4500 AED for parts only). Open the boot and see if lift gate opens nicely or gets sluggish and open half way and require push to move up. This will need 4 shocks replacement (2 x glass shock + 2 x lift gate shocks) cost around 2000 AED. Cayenne is notoriously smooth in acceleration so set in dash alarm at 118 km/h to ping and alert you. Trust me you will save on HUGE speed fines this way. Cayenne turbo fuel mileage: Gradma driving 14 L/100, Normal drive 16 L/100, kicking turbo occasionally full gas 19-20 L/100, Hitting hard on every start 22-25 L/100. I have tried all styles and have records in fuelly app. Good luck with any Cayenne you pick, it will bring big smile on your face every morning you drive. I moved from Range to Porsche so didn't like Porsche in comfort as much as Range, but apart from that it's highly reliable, dependable and great performing SUV with not to mention with expensive service at Al nabooda for minor 2500 AED and Major close to 8-10k AED.- 9 replies

That fluctuation is coz of ICV (Ideal Control Valve) works with vacuum (i think), get it checked or replaced as it has too little to go wrong. I have had same in my very old model Pajero and ICV change fix the problem, as in my case it was so low that car use to stall 3-4 times when it's cold.

Cayenne Turbo low fuel mileage causes
Gaurav replied to kris's topic in Porsche Cayenne Forum in UAE
This normally happens when you hit the gas way too much all the time and keep engaging the turbo after every minute or two. I had 22L/100 mileage when I got same car and after 2-3 weeks later I started getting around 17-18 L/100. This car is engine oil hungry and I hope you know that every 1000 kms you need to pour 1 liter fully synthetic engine oil in engine....? In any case check the engine oil level first and update. -
I rarely order online and I recently ordered online due to saving time. I needed a new strips stickers for my Mustang and for weeks I have been thinking of going and getting it done but never got a time. Ordered from American Muscle website and once I have the stickers, I got it installed from local shop near my house.

Which is the most preferred nationality for buying used car from...?
Gaurav replied to tarik's topic in General Discussions
This totally depends on each and every individual and I personally don't think generalizing based on nationality is good approach to filter. I rather filter based on my first call and see how good and knowledgeable owner is about his/her own car and then take it further. More than 4-5 "I don't know" replies and I put cross for that car viewing. -
Emirates Kart Zone is offering all outdoor track for 100 AED for 15 mins, and having open availability for all upcoming weekends. Their timing seems very convenient too from 4 PM till 12 AM for arrive and drive on any weekend. Let's pick a date and finalize, Im available for all 3, 4, 10, 11 July.

I have gone through same and I highly advise Arnott Inc air suspension that comes with lifetime warranty in US and Europe. I have used same for over 2 years till I sold the car and never had an issue and yet enjoyed the comfort of EAS but without any (beep beep beep). I have also tried the spring conversion in one of my old Rangy, and to be honest it wasn't that bad at all you barely feel the difference unless you are a fan of adjusting height too much.

I had something very similar issue few years back and it turned out to be the Engine fan was the culprit. Engine fan works with viscose clutch and that usually rotate at half rpm speed of engine but when engine gets hot then viscose clutch get fully engage and rotate at 100% speed of engine RPM. This help drawing bigger amount of air and pushes through radiator to cool the coolant at a faster rate. The amount of air and pressure it uses is far above any electric fan and it is capable to dissipate heat within seconds. Engine fan usually have a life of 5-10 years depending on usage, and it's slightly expensive to replace somewhere in range of 800-1200 AED. Go again and test your car in desert and pay extra attention this time when car overheat, that engine fan started working at higher rpm? As it's mechanical operation, so there is no proven and clear way to see when it works except you need to listen that result in LOUD GUSHING NOISE from engine bay. If your car still be quite when engine is slightly overheating then its confirmed that this engine fan viscose clutch needs replacement. If this fan produced enormous gushing noise and temperature drops and then this noise goes back to normal noise level, then that means this engine fan is working and there is something else to doubt.

Patrol, too short gearing for steep climbs LC, too under powered Old Pajero before 2001 model SWB, reasonably well due to better power-weight ratio but not hard core. FJC, Awesome Nissan Xterra, Great Jeep's, stock not so good, reasonably modified with intake, filter, and header can show you great results.

How to connect two mobiles with Ford Mustang SYNC? I connected my iphone in no time when I first got the mustang, and now wondering if it's possible to connect my second phone: Sony as well and keep them both connected while I am driving.
