  3. Tbh, I wouldn't bother with your garage because if they couldn't spot this now, so they are just parts fixer and not "EXPERTS". This engine cooling is a very serious issue and to get 100% right diagnose you ONLY need experts, then to get what they say you can decide with your mechanic or get three quotes anywhere outside. My intention is to get right diagnose than wasting thousands and thousands on guesswork and keep this story going around for months and months. If you can google or find any other """""GOOD"""" engine cooling experts, get their opinion too.
  4. With 80% needle spike on absolute newbie drive, definitely its not normal. Ideal heat gauge needle stays at 45% and while off-roading with AC touches up to 55-60%. When in peak summer, with AC on it shoots above 60% so I drive without AC at times too, but that's normal for many cars, especially Jeep, Pajero, Pathfinder etc. At first you need a bigger radiator, and my best advise is to go to engine cooling experts Dolphin and explain the spike and ask them to provide solution. They might suggest 3 or 4 core aluminium or cooper radiator, so let them make a suggestion, so you know what really is needed. Keep pushing them for there suggestions, being expert so if it fails or work half, they don't blame you that you asked for this and we gave u this.

  6. @Anish S I'm glad that my driving was of some help and this is exactly how I personally learn driving behind seasoned offroaders to learn to perfect the line (track entry /exit) instead of fighting with gravity, cross tracks and using excessive rpm. @Veedooshee your contribution with your common sense and attentiveness is beyond anyone's imagination, as I never expected that Rajeevan can find his number plate back in the desert, once lost. I was super impressed with your photo searching and connecting the dots skills to help him. Really well done to be so cautious while off-roading, and im sure with time you will become a very good off-roader. Big thanks and well done to @AKR @Rajeevan Vickneswaran @Magellan for not getting stuck in such a tricky area. Last but least, thanks and VERY well done to our new leader @Wrangeld for leading an excellent and super challenging drive at solar park and kept on playing with drive level based on convoy response. It is not an easy task for new leaders to tweak the level and find a perfect balance between enjoyment and not getting stuck or scaring people.
  7. More than my Pajero, I absolutely love recovering as it gives me special satisfaction to help and also transfer bit of offroad knowledge and burn some extra calories for my Friday Gym. I did this center fwd after ages and Richard, made sure that I get good pay back after a long time gap. Btw, my Pajero was indeed running hot after 9 AM, so switched off the AC and enjoyed little baking. It was nice seeing you after a long time and sadly due to COVID we are now almost forgetting to see each other face.
  8. What are you missing? You just need a deflator and tire pressure gauge. I can lend u a spare radio, if you need.
  9. For ABS and SRS for FJC @Ale Vallecchi might help and advise if its OK for newbie level. Flag, all are good, as far as you know how to use it. I used twin spot suction bracket for 2 years in my land cruiser and even drove at 120 on highway by mistake and it was still holding fine. @Frederic can advise for narrow frequency.

  12. I agree DM is bit tough, but if you park exactly here DM is the fastest way in and out. Hardware section - car tools have pressure gauge and deflator. Offroad shop will have flag and suction clamp. https://goo.gl/maps/NReRaWWCWMWed8Zv5 25°10'25.3"N 55°24'53.4"E 25.173702, 55.414835
  13. Any car section of ACE, Speedex, carrefour, dragon mart or even roadside tire shop sells deflator and gauge.
  14. Unless its like the case of my Pajero, whenever mechanic misbehave and ill-treat her she never starts. NO MATTER WHAT until mechanic apologies and start being nice to her. Hope your TJ isnt so touchy and emotional, ask mechanic to backtrack with peaceful mind and he will find a wire, switch or connection that he unplugged somewhere to cause this issue.
  15. @Biju Abdul @Heisem @Edgar @MlHazim @Lisa Pemberton @Siobhan @Kieran McKeown Please make sure you buy the deflator (or lean to use key to deflate) and tire pressure gauge to check for 12 PSI. If you can buy the radio, flag and shovel, fantastic as its a must requirement for all off-road drives, if cannot for the first drive (borderline exempted) you HAVE TO buy for the second drive onward for sure.
  16. Sure you can go ahead and RSVP now, ill prepare the list in few hours. Renault Duster are acceptable too for the newbie level drives.
  17. And what do mechanic say now, when Jeep is not starting after the radiator and thermostat change? Hope this mechanic is good enough to replace radiator (no rocket science) and thermostat (piece of cake).
  18. Nope, it's not only the vehicle but combination of many things. Your H3 by no means slowed you down. Dont worry.
  19. Totally agree with @Frederic, being an absolute newbie, you can join any newbie or absolute newbie drive available as per your convenience. Please make sure to go through and understand the Absolute Newbie Briefing before your drive. It's really very important and MUST, as every trip lead will ask question to verify.
  20. We dont see how badly or nicely it has been recovered in the video. If it was recovered by a rope attach to wrangler as seen few minutes before, then that wrangler must have coughed out lungs to turn this rhino, resulting in 5-10 failed attempt resulting in damaging the whole body. Flips are better with winch, if with rope then two cars and two ropes atleast, 3 is blessing.
  21. Hi @Sreejith Sreenivasan welcome to Carnity off-road club. LR2 (some models) are really good for offroad being small and powerful. Which year model and spec LR2 you have? I6 or I4? Also please share the front and back tow point pictures, as some LR2 didn't had proper rear tow hooks.
