  1. In older car rpm are usually controlled by vacuum switch than electronically controlled like in newer car. You also feel same fluctuation when you switch your AC on/off. This is quite normal as far as car is not stalling. If car starts to stall then you need to get your rpm adjuster adjusted to twist notch up. These P38 engines with are literally trouble free for 200k - 300k easy. Do you know you have Bosch setup or Gem setup manifold & ignition? Bosch are much better than Gem (older engineering).
  2. Dear ENOC/EPPCO/EMARAT fuel station management guys, please make sure that in every fuel station air inflation bay is equipped with working air inflation system. Most neglected facility in Dubai. I have personally noticed that many petrol station is having non working air inflation system or torn/leaking inflation hoses. On one side we all say that tire bursting rate is very high and cause fatal accidents. And on other side fuel fill up companies cut on maintenance and repairs of such crucial facility. I am not sure about the cost of maintenance is a challenge for these companies or not, but if it is then start charging a dirham or two for every car and keep these things working round the clock. I hope others must have noticed something like this too and appreciate to have their votes here to make this reach to higher authorities and save few more lives.
  3. Nice job done, mate. How much is asking price, i have a colleague who drive defender and I can pass the word if he is interested.
  4. If money is not an issue and you want best of both world (sand performance + road comfort) along with good life go for Michelin Latitude. Second best option is Yokohama Geolander HT (more on road comfort) or ATS (more on offroad performance). Third best is Cooper ATR (more on offroad performance)
  5. Must be child lock from inside, that's the usual place people will keep the child lock always active. If its not opening from outside as well, then you need to get the lock checked as it might be going for a toss.
  6. Hey Guys, I have been watching couple of interesting discussion in past. So thought of asking something interesting and curious to my mind and i hope any one of you can help. Please forgive me if you find this no brainier question as i have been told from service adviser that i need new tires costing me close to 4000 dhs. Before i spend this money i want to understand and realize if its really needed or just service adviser making it sound must to do job? Is there any indication apart from looking at tread which in my case seems like same in last 6 months back when i purchased the car. How to identify the tire life, i read whole manual and it doesn't say a thing on this subject. Hoping to hear from you guys, love you all.
  7. Dear Sirs, I am a proud owner of a 2003 Discovery which is one of my fav cars. Off lately i am noticing that my car is making an effort to make the fist move of the day as if it is carrying a lot of load. What i want to know is what is the problem? There is no other issue with the car. Thank you for the help in advance Sincerly Jackson
