  1. Thats a Limited Edition Copy produced in small numbers in 1998 for the Middle East market....the only thing 'Camel' about them were the paint, bonnet stickers and snorkel! That vehicle is missing the bolt-on roof rack fitted with lamps and a CT plaque. Of course the most important part of any CT vehicle is the 300TDi engine and manuel R380 gearbox....that one is a V8 Auto. The original had heavy duty half shafts denoted by a HD stamped on the ends.....there are a 101 other add-ons that denote an Original CT vehicle none of which the Limited Edition Vehicles had. Due to the rather small numbers made they carry a slightly higher asking price than the bog standard XS Spec vehicles but in this market the value is about the same as a standard one unless it's still got all of the Limited Edition accessories which appear to be missing from the car in the photo.
  2. Sharky....I bought it back from UK for you! Sourced from Ashcrofts I think?
  3. Bling My Truck have some good Baja Racks and Icon have the popular Front Runner Range. Both suppliers have websites.....don't be put off by the Bling name either...their gear is pretty good.
  4. You won't go wrong with Old Man Emu. They are one of the biggest sellers in Australia. They are also good value for money and won't cost a fortune.
  5. Having to replace the head gaskets on a 4.6efi in the Oman empty quarter was a nightmare. Lucky I had all tools and a spare gasket set available. Another nightmare was in Saudi, having to rebuild a series III radiator after the fan shattered and ruptured it. An entire night around the campfire managed to fix it and drive 200km home without losing a drop of coolant! Replacing a clutch on a 110 in the UAE Liwa took a bit longer than planned!
  6. Very good work done at Al Mansoori Body shop close to the Emirates head quarters by the airport. 04 2858359. Mr Bernard. I had my Disco roof done for 500Dhs earlier this year. Ver happy with their service and rates compared to the usual Dubai Rover workshops.
  7. For Al Daid... two options. 1st. Go down the Sharjah/Daid road. Get to first roundabout and turn right...after three or four KM you'll find a whole load of scrappers. Rainbow Breakers on the left always had good assortment of series vehicles, early Disco's and Range Rover Classics. 2nd Opion. Hit the same roundabout and turn left....at every roundabout, intersection etc go straight over untill you see a series I vehicle perched on top of a 20 feet tall tower...it's the best clue to what lays ahead on the left hand side. Mostly series vehicles but some rare Menarva's and series III Gun ships from Saudi.
