  1. @Juzer Gandhi depends on final confirmations if we have quite a few ppl available and possibility to add another lead we might make two convoys, else if it’s limited ppl then may extend the convoy size to a couple of more riders. Waiting for overall feedback from all. Are you confirmed for the drive?
  2. Dear Sailors hope you are having a nice week. Since we have 7 on WL and most ppl have this as their only drive this weekend, we are reviewing the plans to try and accommodate most - extend the convoy size or split into two convoys. Request you to please confirm your plan to join the drive - to enable us finalize the plans accordingly. Kindly let us know by EOD today (update the rsvp) to enable us plan accordingly. @Tharun Kumar V @Mike M. @Ishak @Pranjal Varsani1 @Mark B @Krishna R @Rajat Verma @Glenn W @Gary F @Zubair @Juzer Gandhi @Yaseen87 @Abdul Basit Khan @Rashid Alseeni @Daniel Rodas @Sayed Bilal @Andrei S
  3. Hi @L. Petelczyc As @M.Seidam mentioned with metal on metal be cautious of thread issue. Have tried multiple options - one that has worked best is metal mount with a quick release flag holder.. aor flag split type or flexi type has regular issues with thread, small thread cap with heavy flag - I went to off road zone and they had really good flags with long thread pins. Used 2 aor flags in a year (split types) lost threads and have been using off road zone one for more than a year now with quick release has been going good. Again no right answer, soln that worked for me has failed for many.
  4. Thanks all for RSVPing for the drive - it really went off and over subscribed super fast, with a good mix of rides and riders. We have a perfect convoy for the theme of this drive. Murquab and Lisali area offer a very good platform for a fast paced drive through long range dunes as well some crazy maneuvering experience over tech dunes, ensuring a perfect setting to enjoy the weekend on sand. I will share the final details of the drive later in week, in due course, a humble request to all - we have 7WL drivers, so anyone who has a change of plans or is not sure to make it for the drive, please update the RSVP well in time - we don’t want to be losing slot while others are waiting. Thanks again for your positive response to the drive, looking forward to see you all this weekend. Have a nice week ahead. @Tharun Kumar V @Ishak @Joseph Raju @Zubair @Gary F @Glenn W @Rajat Verma @Krishna R @Mark B @Mike M. 6. Hahah that’s the beauty of crests - sometime recovery is easier than explaining to own self that how we managed to get stuck there … 😀

  8. Drive Plan Dear Sand Sailors, have you ever been crested on top of a dune? These magical treacherous curve on dunes have bewitched the best of off-roaders. "Its not about avoiding getting crested but what you make of it once crested, that define you as an off-roader" - Varun, Circa 2023. 🖖🤘 Some tend to panic, some wait for guidance and some enjoy the moment by clicking some nice pics - for me, being stuck on top of a dune is step towards Inner peace - its the point when i am not only far away from the hustle of daily life but also alone on a dune away from the rest of the convoy. Those epic moments, before the support team and rest of convoy jump in with their instructions/shovel, offer a perfect time to find some inner peace in one of the most soothing ambience. Snapshot of my recent ventures with this Inner Peace (observe the calm alignment to the the contours of the dune - mesmerizing, isn’t it 😀😀). Thanks @Naveen Raj for the nice click. Through this drive - we plan to transverse through the treacherous dunes around Murquab and Lisali - criss crossing, going up and down and ridge riding all the way - with one and only one agenda - providing the convoy with the ultimate chance to either test their maneuverability through these beautiful curves or experience the bliss of being crested. Our maxim for this drive - may there be peace within you, around you and peace all over the world. ☮️ 🖖 General Overview We request every member that joins this drive to go through the below information and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquettes and responsibilities. 9. Thanks Sailors for joining in for the drive today. It was an amazing morning and the energy of the convoy ensured we had an awesome outing at Sweihan despite the events that unfolded during the course. Truly to the title of the drive, we spent more than 95% of our moving time above 200mtr checkpoint - accomplishing the mission we had set out for. Criss crossing and ridge riding through the marvelous dunes of Sweihan we covered around 65Km in less than 2.5 hours of moving time I.e clocking an amazing speed of > 25Kmph. In the process, with all the awesome climbs we did - we clocked more than 1.35km of climbs through the drive, that’s just wow 🤩. Best of all - No ropes, no shackles, no tugs and shovels out only twice that too to help me get out of those hard compacted ridges - this says a lot about the skill set of all the driver. Only stoppage time we had were one pop out and ofcourse the mechanical issues with the cars - literally today the men managed to beat the machine 👍👍👏👏. Kudos to you all especially the new Int drivers @Gertjan and @Gerrit Bus you both were simply awesome 👏👏 @Naveen Raj you rocked the sl position and the way you matched every track n climb on your 3L Pajero was just incredible. @Tareq Al Turq I don’t know if it was after effect of a nice Friday night party or what - you just rocked the drive today 😀😀 brilliant drive throughout, well done. @Mohamad Anwer that Super Safari SwB is a beautiful looking vehicle on sand and you handled it elegantly throughout, other than that small movement leading to pop out. @MMansoor as always smooth with your Y62, bumper kissing the sand is one of the most common PDA in desert. @Beide Worku good to know you could drive it till the garage, hope it will be all fit and fine for the next weekend, looking forward to see you soon. @Vaibhav @Ranjan Das @Waqas Parvez @Simon D @ASAD. as always thanks for all the support throughout the drive and specially during the small incidents with the car. Your presence ensured safety for all and always brings in an awesome vigor to the convoy. @Hisham Masaad thanks for joining in. With you and @Abdelghani on the drive - we are never short of ideas to fix things and energy to keep all charged. Thanks 🙏 Thanks all again for a wonderful outing on sand, see you all soon.

  11. Hi @Archibald Jurdi hope you noted that you have been added to the drive, as we have one drop out. Please confirm your availability. Dear All will be finalizing the convoy details around 530pm. I hope every one in the confirmed list is available for tomo. We still have 4 WL so please ensure that you update the RSPV in next hour, so as to enable others to plan as well in case of availability of slot, @Gertjan @Gerrit Bus @Vaibhav @Waqas Parvez @ASAD. @Naveen Raj @Ranjan Das @Simon D @Mohamad Anwer @MMansoor @Beide Worku
  12. Hey @Tareq Al Turq already extended the convoy by 2. Won’t be right to extend any further. Still two days to go so let’s see if any change in RSVP status. Again, a request to all - if any change in plans, please update at the earliest, so that all can plan accordingly.
  13. Thanks @Sunil Mathew for sharing the same well in time, we’ll miss you. Hopefully will catch sometime soon. Have a safe n fun trip. Dear All - considering that we have very good rides and riders, I have extended the convoy to 12. Won’t be able to extend further (have to respect the terrain as well). We still have 5 WL, so in case any one has change of plans, please update well in time. Thanks for your understanding.
  14. Dear Sand Sailors Thanks for RSVPing for the drive. Believe @Simon D has already summed up how fast the slots went through - really appreciate the response and i am hoping we will be as swift during the drive as well A drive in Sweihan has been long overdue for me and i am really looking forward to explore the magnificent dunes of this beautiful area, Surely couldnt have asked for a stronger convoy and especially with the company of Lord of adrenaline pumping drives @Hisham Masaad, we are in for some amazing fun. With 5 days to go for this drive, lets get to the business.. This terrain is going to demand some clear ground rules and preparation. So, lets be sure about the same before we land up at meeting point on Saturday. a.) This area demands exceptional Radio communication skills. One miss communication and the whole convoy can be stuck for a long haul. So, please make sure you are very comfortable managing radio. 1. No Radio = No Drive. 2. No sufficient battery in radio = No drive 3. Missed communication and we might have to exit the driver. I am sure you all appreciate that safety is paramount. b.) Unless fully convinced about yours and your vehicle's climbing ability, avoid passengers for this drive. Keep the vehicle light and your mind free of any distractions. I can assure you, this is not a drive which passengers will cherish. c.) Check that your vehicle is in perfect shape. You will need all the power that it possess through this drive. d.) Ensure you have all your off-roading gears in perfect condition. e.) Coming back after a long break from sand - in general my advice is always to go for FB+ or FB drive, before going ahead for Int. drive. Ofcourse, this is just a recommendation based on experience. f.) Above all, please be fully rested for the drive. So, plan all parties for Saturday night. Another, key element - We have 9 drivers on WL, so please ensure that if your plan changes or you are not sure about your plans, please update the RSVP well in time - lets not lose a slot while we have a long WL.. Thanks for your understanding. Thanks again for your response. Looking forward to see you all on Saturday. @Gertjan @Waqas Parvez @ASAD. @Vaibhav @Imran Kashif @MMansoor @Naveen Raj @Sunil Mathew @Ranjan Das @Beide Worku WL (not in any order) - @Gerrit Bus @Mohamad Anwer @Simon D @Archibald Jurdi @Ashutosh Garg @Karthikeyan Govindarajan @Tareq Al Turq @Chris Wing @Alexanderrr

  16. Drive Plan Some wise off-roader once said "Smart ppl save enough to shower gifts on their loved ones on V day, Genius fill up their fuel tank and use it all in Sweihan before losing it all on Valentine’s day". This drive is designed for Geniuses, so RSPV at your own risk. Drive is 3rd in series of ChkPt200 Intermediate drives. After successful execution and experimentation with the series around Badayer, Area 53, its time to take it to where it actually belongs - the beautiful bowls of Sweihan. See you all this Saturday, as we get set to explore some of the highest of dunes, sharpest of ridges and sweetest of bowls in Sweihan.
