  1. Thanks @Beide Worku all the best with car.. Hi @Chris Wingyou are added to drive please confirm your attendance
  2. Dear all we have 12 confirmed members and 6 WL. I have already extended the drive for 12 (instead of original 10 driver). Considering terrain and drive plan won’t be fair for anyone to extend any further the convoy size. So request all to review your plan and please update rsvp in case of change in plans, latest by tomo afternoon. Let’s not wait till last min. For those who won’t be accommodated, I regret the same however promise will schedule another drive in the region with same or hopefully improved theme sometime soon. Thanks for your understanding. On behalf of @Looperand myself. Thanks @Imteeaz @Beide Worku @Imran Kashif @Salim Akhtar @Sam K @Rob S @Ranjan Das @Senthil Kumar @Tareq Al Turq @Haitham Khattab @salah2u @Amr Aydin WL 1 @Chris Wing Wl 2 @Mahmoud Taha Wl 3 @Alexanderrr Wl 4 @Daniel Rodas Wl 5 @Peter Hager Wl 6 @takeshi sobue
  3. Dear @Sam K @Senthil Kumar and @Ranjan Das you have been added to drive. Let me know if you have any change in plans.
  4. This element of turning trac control off every time switch to 4H is so irritating in Jeep. Does it affect the warranty?
  5. Thanks all for the lovely response to the drive - is really very encouraging and motivating. And honestly added a bit of pressure of expectation as well, have I oversold it? 😀😀 Also a bit curious if its the LOR or a Little Sweihan magic? Hope no one mixed it with Sweihan, Abu Dhabi. 😀 We have a long WL and as you can imagine surely can’t extend the convoy to accommodate all. While I am evaluating options, seek your support as well. a. In case you are not sure or your plan is changing, please ensure you update RSVP at the earliest - surely wont be good that we lose a slot while we have 8 ppl in WL - with 6 of them having this as their only drive option for the weekend. b. For drivers Intermediate and Above, in case missed out, there is another Intermediate drive as well at same time and understand still has some slot open. Though it’s a Abu Dhabi drive, starting point is just at border of Dubai-Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. So not much diff in alarm time 😀. Plus is a totally new terrain - not explored before by any of Carnity convoy. Accordingly, if you find it interesting, kindly review. Thanks again and will surely revert with some plan based on overall picture in couple of days and really looking forward to Sunday. 🙏 @Rob S @Imteeaz @Beide Worku @Imran Kashif @Looper @Ranjan Das @Daniel Rodas @Gregory @takeshi sobue @Sam K @Senthil Kumar @Haitham Khattab @Amr Aydin @Mahmoud Taha @Tareq Al Turq @Chris Wing @salah2u @Alexanderrr@Salim Akhtar
  6. Hi @Sayed Bilal this drive is only for members at Fewbie plus level. I understand you are presently at NB, so have removed you from WL. We have a NB drive this Saturday in case you would like to join (link below for your ref) Thanks for your understanding 👍
  7. Dear Sand Sailors Thanks for joining in for the drive today morning. It was full of action. Though we started off a bit later than planned, the enthusiasm of the convoy, awesome team work - meant despite all the challanges, we in the end conquered the goal we had set for our selves. Picture below is testimony of how well you all managed the drive. We were throughout above 200mtr mark. Great job all. Area 53 is undoubtedly a challenging terrain usually being explored by Intermediate and above level. However, the camaraderie and skill set of this convoy ensured that there was nothing that could limit us. You all were just awesome - the only time we took rope and shovel out was my own stuck in that pocket. Rest was limited to refusals and were all nicely handled by the convoy. Special thanks to @imranaasghar81 @Imteeaz for all the support throughout the drive and helping the drivers. We had our fair share of vehicle issue - MAF sensor of @Jose Thomas giving up under the severe test and ofcourse the scariest of all - @Beide Worku 's F150 show at the end of the drive. But again the team work and energy managed to beat all that was thrown at this convoy. Really proud to be part of this group. @Morshedi - 2 times in a row, you were just awesome as SL. @Sam K @Mahmoud Taha - apart from couple of refusals you both were awesome on your first FB+ drives. Brilliantly driven. @salah2u the magic of new tyres was very clear today. @Prakash Anoop @Haitham Khattab Red carpet drive for your Red Rubicons. Very well driven throughout. @takeshi sobue - Just another wow drive for you. Also, very nicely executed the tug - an FJ pulling out an F150 was a sight. Thanks for your support. @Jose Thomas - very nicely driven - few refusals at this level of terrain is very well acceptable. @Imran Kashif - another brilliant drive. @Beide Worku - thanks for all the support keeping the convoy togather. Wasnt an easy task today with all the high dunes we climbed today. All the best with your vehicle. Thanks all, looking forward to drive with this awesome convoy sometime soon. Till then have fun.

  9. "ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul" - For us mortals - i tried translating it - One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them. Little Sweihan has some of the most awesome bowls, craziest of technical patches and incredibly tall dunes. Bound togather by Shamel through the hot & dark summer nights, this area is undoubtedly the king of desert and rules the Dubai off-road arena. Through this drive, we target to go around (Ring) through this awesome terrain. So, Sand Sailors, in the word of Sir Gandalf “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” - lay around bed this coming sunday or explore this awesome terrain. This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. At least happy that you had atleast one drive this weekend. 👍 Sailors, anyone who won’t turn up tomo would have to deliver 10ltr fuel to Senthil.

  13. Thanks all for RSVPing for the drive. This really went faster than i expected - seems no one is scared of the crazy high dunes at Area 53 We have a very strong convoy - same usual supercool gang every sunday . However, considering the demanding nature of this terrain and our drive plan, refer below for some suggestions. To put things in perspective, Faya's highest point is 223mtr above sea level and plan here is to spend most of our time 200mtr above sea level - so it will be like climbing Big Red & Faya over and over again. a.) Unless fully convinced about yours and your vehicle's climbing ability, avoid passengers for this drive. Keep the vehicle light and your mind free of any distractions. b.) If your vehicle has struggled in past to climb steep dunes in D mode, this will surely be a drive where you would need to use Tip Tronics - so would be good to get used to it before the drive. Ofcourse, we will explore this element during the drive as well, however, some practice before the drive always helps - especially if not used to it. c.) Ensure you have all your off-roading gears. d.) Above all you need to ensure that you are fully rested for the drive. So, plan the parties on friday night not saturday. Looking forward to see you all on red dunes of Area 53. @Mahmoud Taha and @Sam K congrats on being promoted to FB+, as our gift to you - you both will be the official shovel manager on this drive. Have a nice protein rich breakfast for next few days @Prakash Anoop @Haitham Khattab @Imran Kashif @Beide Worku @Jose Thomas @Morshedi @takeshi sobue @Imteeaz @salah2u Sam K - You are WL1. @Amr Aydin - Your are on WL2

  15. Drive Details Do you know how Area 53 got its name? Well any off-roader in UAE will tell you - with its Pyramid shaped vertiginous dunes, razor sharp ridges, the mystery that this area offers to Off-roaders is atleast 2 steps ahead of the notorious Area 51..:) This is undoubtedly the area to explore when one needs that extra dose of adrenaline rush. So, this Sunday, lets get set to test our climbing skills through this awe-inspiring terrain - which has tested the best of off-roaders in UAE. Our goal through this drive shall be to climb up every dune >200mtr high in this area (yup, it has a lot of them) and hence, the element of Checkpoint 200 as mission of this drive. 16. Wow super cool concept drive @GauravSoni 👍👍 not in town next week, would have loved to join. Perhaps next time
  17. Dear Sand Sailors Thanks for joining in for the drive and making it a fun outing on sand. The terrain, convoy and weather all were worth every minute of sleep we lost last night 😊 Timely arrival of all meant we could start the drive with the first ray of sun light around 5:45am. Small but soft dunes at the beginning of the drive provided us with good place to warm up as convoy sailed through these dunes with no concern at all. Around 615am, 30min into the drive, view of sunrise was too tempting to let go and we took our first break. Well it’s these mesmerizing gifts of nature that bring us back to sand every weekend. As we started to roll back again, there was no stopping this convoy - I continously ramped up the pace, added multiple ridges to our drive, however you guys ensured that by 7am, having travelled around 25Km in less than an hour of moving time , we were already on the top of Pink Rock. And then we started the real high speed car chase.Swaying through countless awesome bowls, criss crossing and riding on top of those lovely ridges, we were almost close to the Big Red, when @salah2u’s patrol decided it’s time for a break and a pop-out. @Beide Worku,s magic fixed it in no time and we were back again. As we reached the Big red, it was clear from word go that it won’t be easy with all the cross tracks and super soft sand. We had our challenges - multiple refusals, my jeep landing in a tricky pocket and couple of small stucks, however the convoy didn’t give up and we all managed to complete our first round to Big red successfully. However the second attempt proved more complicated - while rest of the convoy managed to sail through, by that time @salah2u’s patrol had decided Enough is Enough and just wasn’t ready to go. Re-routing Salah, we climbed a few more high sides of Big red and with sun shining bright, decided to end the drive as planned at 930am. Overall we travelled around 50Km at an average moving speed of 20Kmph - and completed our goals of a high speed drive through a beautiful and challenging terrain. Moving time was around 2hrs 30min, a brilliant outcome for a FBPlus level. Thanks @Morshedi for being a perfect SL, you responded proactively to all my instructions and drove beautifully throughout. Hope your passenger was okay on way back home, this route with all big bowls is never easy on passengers. @Gertjan other than couple of refusal on big red, you had an awesome drive . Handled the FJ beautifully through the ridges and cross-crossings. @takeshi sobue your ridge riding today was a sight to cherish, beautiful control on the car throughout. @Imteeaz thanks for being the back bone of the convoy and handling it all very nicely. @KAMALIO as was with last drive, you did awesome through the drive. Only thing that challenged you was your own jeep and it’s electronics - you should get it checked. Brillant execution of self recoveries as well as tug. @salah2u few refusals, stucks are part of being an off-roader. You generally managed it all very well - it’s never going to be easy handling a Patrol through high climbs in D mode. Let’s get started with top tronics, I am sure you will realize that you have a lot more to unearth out of this beautiful vehicle. @Beide Worku thanks for keeping the convoy together - another perfect drive for you and brilliantly executed the pop-out fix and other recoveries. Thanks all, looking forward to see you all soon.
