  1. Hi @Wrangeld this was listed as Fewbie earlier in msg now changed to Fewbie plus, any possibility can join in, I have done 3 Fewbie drives ? Still looking for my first drive. 😭
  2. Thanks @Chaitanya DThis week is crazy ..5 min delay and all drives are full. Please add me to Waiting list, if no other drive will surely join in... I want to visit Sweihan someday n enjoy the drive, however for this weekend have some plans and the distance coming back would be killing me with after plans.
  3. Thanks @Chaitanya D any idea about the cost of same...have spent quite a bit on pcrs over last couple of months.
  4. Hehehe... Have another one for drive specifically with @Wrangeld ... Can't fit it on roll bar.. 😄😄
  5. Thanks all for your suggestions...finally got it done...as suggested Quick fist clamps and thanks to @Kailas advice cable ties to avoid drilling in (without this surely won't have gone ahead with concept). Thanks again all - stuck some bubble wrap at end just to avoid any scratch (though there is gap, just being Iextra cautious) ...perhaps will replace it with some rubber tip as soon find the right size for shovel. @Gaurav @Rahimdad @Foxtrot Oscar
  6. Thanks @Frederic for elaborating the basics of diff ways... Point I always stuck at is how to judge how much momentum is required - especially in situation where before reaching the Dune one doesn't even have a real picture of what to expect. We had a similar case today on drive with @Ale Vallecchi ... We had a bit of climb before we had a series of bowls to side slope...so complete visibility at each dune wasn't there ...in attempt to go for side sloping there were moments of lower than reqd momentum leading to a bit of fishtailing, Though knowing my vehicle i could push through, still had to fight gravity or cross steer (though not much, but still)... Issue with too much momentum is crashing into or flying off those sproadic bumps that are always somewhere in middle... Prima facie my mind says it's experience that bring in soln to these finer details however if any specific tips to manage these issue, please advice.
  7. Thanks Ale for the wonderful drive.... Though longer than usual, the regularly changing terrain n your leadership ensured that thrill n fun continued till the end. A drive with more Oryx tracks than vehicle tracks...so simply couldn't have asked for a better morning. Thanks Luca, Islam and Ahab for your support and to the whole convoy for making it fun. .
  8. Hi @Mikhail Lukichev a beginner query - do we need additional camera flashlight? Or just a general Headlamp/flashlight?
  9. Hi Mikhail i have a Nikkon D5100 with couple of lens 18-50mm, 50-200mm and I believe a 50mm.
  10. Thanks @Brette for the feedback .. yes as we discussed post drive.. a bit more gas would surely have avoided fishtailing and made the drive smoother.. .. have been using too much gas in previous drives consequently loosing control down the dunes and in case of a bumps in between.., In effort to cut it down i went a bit too low this time ... Really cherish these post drive feedback that we have at Carnity. Gives a clear direction to work on... Thanks a lot for your time to share the same instantly post the drive as well over this forum. Looking forward to next drive with you soon. Cheers
  11. Wow was really looking forward to this after i couldn't get the slot in last long drive by Prof Ale.... Can I add myself in list before the One Second window opens .😄 Plz. Hope those who couldn't get slot last time will get some pref @Ale Vallecchi
  12. Thanks guys for a wonderful morning in desert. @Brette thanks a lot for taking it through a real good mix of ridge crossing nad slide slopes. It was a perfect setup to help us test and elevate our skills. Support from @Kailas and the fact that I had someone like @Rizwan to follow really helped me get going. Special thanks to @Kailas for all the flag chasing, as advised by @Rizwanm2 i used some WD40 and it's fitting in fine now... @naved thanks for lovely pics and taking it with ease the challanges i added for.you by moving a lot of sand on my way 😄 Small convoy size and collaboration among the team made this technical drive a real fun. Thanks all, looking forward to have the next ride with you all soon.
  13. Thanks Vanessa for leading the team through this adventurous drive. It was really a good first fewbie experience for me and enjoyed every bit of it - thanks to the whole team for making this challanging drive a fun. Looking forward to see you soon in desert. Regards
  14. A wonderful class on Off-roading by Prof Ale. It truly had it all - a beautiful desc to curriculum, tough start to provide reality check, regular surprise tests, continuous assessments/feedback and as is mostly the case with all beautiful journeys - they end before one expects - for that we need to thank the security guys from China State Grid Co...😝😝 Reminded me of my college days - being a backbencher (car no 12) and enjoying every bit of Prof's wrath on frontliners - poor Joe and Mike..😃😃 Funny side apart, Thanks Ale for really good session and especially for all your efforts to ensure that we not only cross the challenges that track offered (and it offered a lot) but learn the real basics. Thanks Jeepie and Niki..your presence and support been a big confidence booster. Looking forward for the next drive with you all. @Ale VallecchiVallecchi @Jeepie @Niki Patel
