  1. Ok. To change the starter follow the points: Before removing the starter, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery cable first and then the positive cable from the starter. Now use the ratchet to remove all the bolts which is holding the starter to the block. Now disconnect the starter and and install the new one by tightening the bolts by hand first and then use the ratchet to tighten it completely. At the end you can reconnect the battery cable back to the starter. Its done!
  2. Just for General Knowledge, i want to know: Whats the life of clutch in a car?
  3. How can I know which cylinder finish is best for my Hyundai Accent?
  4. Thanks brother. After reading the post, i think my fuel pump is still fine and there is no such issue with the fuel pump.
  5. Well, there are two reasons why the car has rotten egg smell. One is catalytic converter and the other one is the battery. In your case, it cannot be catalytic conveter, as you were on vacation and you did not drive your car in meanwhile. So its battery. The rotten egg smell from the battery comes when there is a possibility of decoposition. I suppose the battery life is coming to an end now. I am also assuming that you did not remove the battery from the car when you went to vacation.
  6. Go for something updated! I mean dont know go a model whic is 5 or more years old. I did the same mistake and i ended up paying a lot for the maintenance. FJ Cruiser offcourse is a nice car, but buying a used one, then check for the claims on the vehicle, if any accident and things like that.
  7. I did the cleanign as you said. Uffff! the odor and the amount of dirt from the pan was horrible. But after cleaning it, the AC is perfectly fine. No clogging at all. Thanks to you actually!
  8. I just have one tip to share: dont wash anything like AC Compressor or engine parts if you are not sure about how they function and whether or not You can wash it by water.
  9. Talking about the cheap plastic, i have an interesting story to tell you guys. I bought Ford Fiesta in 2012. My family loved this car and without any trouble, the car went smooth for good 6 months. I was happy so was my family. The problem started when I smelled a bad odor in my car. I opened the engine, and as Bradly shared, the plastic caps of the radiator were burnt already. There was a coolant leak from the car. I took my car to the dealer and they changed the complete radiator was it was completely changed. But please note, that the plastic covering the new radiator was again very cheap quality which I noticed after 4 months. Not only didn’t that, after few months, the dash drawer at the passenger’s side lock properly. Reason if you ask, the plastic of dash was so cheap that the lock was half hanging out. Got that changed as well. After some days I noticed that the dash from the corner of the passenger front is broken when my niece was playing in there. I don’t blame my niece, as the dash was broken already and she was the one who made me notice the broken dash. I took my car to the dealer with an angry mood and blasted my voice out to them. And guess what they told me, they have to change the complete dash interior. I was like! I just bought this car! And the most interesting part was when they came to me with a sweet smile on their face and said, “Sir! The replacement of this will not be covered under the warranty, as the warranty doesn’t claim anything in interiors”. Somehow I managed to control my anger and left from there. I was so annoyed with my car that I sold my car to my cousin as he wanted a car urgently. Somehow he is surviving in this car now.
  10. Its never a good option, and trust me with it! The reason why I am saying this is because i once bought the used transmission to get it replaced with the damaged one. And the result was really bad. Because of the used transmssion, it failed all other components of transmission and drive trains.
  11. Can I install the car amplifier on my own? If yes, please share how?
  12. Overheating. May be the coolant or oil from the engine is leaking. Don’t wait for any of the part to be damaged because of this, and take your car to the dealer NOW! I remember when I ignored this issue for a month and because of that; the radiator and head gasket was damaged and had to replace them. Go NOW!
  13. Yes you can. And rather you can save money to get it installed from your dealer or any other workshop. Firstly, you need to remove the face plate/trim piece. To do that you have to unscrew all the screws on the trim piece. There will be some components connected to the trim piece that you may need to detach for a while until the installation is complete. You will notice the OEM harness over there. You need to connect each wire properly in crimp connector. There are some wires of the speakers as well. It’s mentioned on the connector as well as the wire onto which one will go to which plug. Sometimes, the color code also helps in doing so. The put the stereo connector inside the space and screw the car stereo properly. Before tightening it, make sure the connection is proper and the stereo is working properly. Tighten the screws and enjoy your music!
