  1. Today my car flashed the particle filter warning light. There are a couple of days off here in the UAE so i might have to wait till monday or tuesday to have it checked, I wanted to know what this flashing is about and what the severity of the issue might be. Is it okay to drive the car around while the light is flashing ? Someone told me its realted to the FAP filter. What is that? Thanks
  2. Here you go.. The carbon filter is located on the passenger side so slide the seat back as far as it can go ... remove the floor mat just in case .. You might already know about the plastic clip on the panel below the glove compartment. pull the clips out and then the panel. You will find a handle on the panel cover which is located behind the ashtray. After you pull the panel cover away.. you will find the carbon filter. Pull the old filter out and make sure you dont move it too much to get the dirt on yourself. you might have to bend it to take it out completely. Slide in the new one, just make sure the air flow arrow on the filter is pointing up. The panel can be put back till it snaps shut. Replace the top panel with the plastic clips. Done and dusted.
  3. okay this is so much more work than a dipstick oil checking process. I dont think its mine for the doing. Will call up Swaidan and make an appt.
  4. Hello all, I wanted to know how i can get my hands into checking the gearbox oil in a peugeot 307 since it does not come with the ordinary dipstick which is how i used to check the oil in my old car. Anyone can help me with this alternative method?
  5. Djamal Overall it has been a really good car for me, and this is the first time I have had a major problem with it. Comando. muneer and junior Thank you all for your valuable time and advice. Will definitely discuss everything with the guys at Al Naboodah next time I am there.
  6. Contd... The first time I got it jump started I was told it was a loose battery lead which had been fixed. Next morning on my way to work it happened again. The people at the workshop said it seemed like an alternator/battery problem but they cleaned the earthing and jump started the car so I could get to work. The car broke down again a couple of days later. This time I got towed to a different garage and initially their mechanic said it was the alternator belt slipping. When I went back to pick it up I was told that the battery was not charging to a high-enough voltage so they changed the battery and that the belt was fine. Unsurprisingly, the same thing happened again last night although I managed to get home. So far no one can identify the problem which means all my money, time and effort has been going to waste. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  7. This is going to be hard to believe. Here's my problem: Roughly 10 to 15 minutes after I start my car and start driving the headlights and the dashboard lights start dimming and/or flickering and the battery warning light follows soon after. If I don't stop driving, the airbag warning light will then come on and within a few minutes, the car loses all forms of electrical power. Now for the fun part: the engine keeps on running but there's no reason to continue driving when the lights, the wipers, the radio nothing works. It will need to be jump started but will only function normally for 20 minutes or so.
  8. Well are you buying the car first hand or second? price depends there ... I THINK you can get the smaller toyota cars for the same price and they are more reliable. Not to be mean to Peugeot since i see them everywhere here in Dubai but just saying since you will be depending on the car a lot especially in the heat! I think black.
  9. hey there Wish you had provided a few more details. Can't just bet on one thing. Could be coils, spark plugs, sensors, fuel filter etc etcc. Or maybe you used some dirty fuel. I can tell you one thing though, if it's an electrical fault then it could be a total nightmare for you.
  10. hi guys, just food for thought ... Peugeot is not everyone's preference ... in fact some people (including my dad) despise the car so much that they can't stand it if they see one on the roads. I owned a peugeot when I was in college, I had to get around quick and spent the money i had on the car i could afford to buy second hand... I have a certain interest in the car and was reading about the new 308 hatch which seems to be a big improvement from all the cars peugeot have introduced in the market. Well ... the exteriors at least are a big improvement. Its set to release in September ... is someone looking forward to buying it? If so why?
