  1. Octane rating or octane number is a standard measure of the performance of a motor or aviation fuel. The higher the octane number, the more compression the fuel can withstand before detonating. In broad terms, fuels with a higher octane rating are used in high-compression engines that generally have higher performance. In contrast, fuels with low octane numbers (but high cetane numbers) are ideal for diesel engines. Use of gasolines with low octane numbers may lead to the problem of engine knocking. Best to check owner manual; however on Porsche i understand the engine management systems can alter the ignition in the cylinder subject to the fuel type. If the timing is wrong you get the knocking or pinking noise and loss of power under acceleration and potential misfiring.
  2. I find the same with lots of companies. The companies have been around for many years but the people who are actually skilled and doing the work are limited. So many companies have many years experience, not all the staff do, and you hope to get the good guy on your car (or whatever service you are paying for). I understand one of the guys at Jas is ex Ali and Sons, and also ex House of Cars so he has experience. I like to believe you get what you pay for, but so often you dont. - or maybe i just have bad selection process in Dubai in previously paying top prices and being dissapointed. You have to watch everybody doing everything.!
  3. Would like to find that CD also! Thanks jdrdxb(at)yahoo(dot)com Thanks!
  4. They are very cheap compared to House of Cars and ARM. Was happy with my service and repairs.
