  1. Thanks @Srikumar for posting drive here in Abu Dhabi and it was great to see you after long long time. @Chaitanya D @Lorenzo Candelpergher @Janarthan @Tbone @Foxtrot Oscar @Kalahari @Najeeb Mohammed all new faces to me except @Nivin. It was nice driving with all of you, everyone drove fantastic and i am happy to see some emerging leader here. @Chaitanya D your lead was for a sort distance and we were enjoying to follow you but unfortunately the convoy had to stop due to one of the vehicle over heating situation and had to exit the drive. Looking forward to drive with all of you again. There are many endless terrain here. We will definitely explore those areas this winter. List of Terrain: Bu Tais, Um Al Oush, Al Wagan, Al Qoua, Al Yasar, Razeen, Madinat Zayed and every offroaders dream Rub Al Khali (The Empty Quater) Liwa
  2. Xterra has a weak rear tow hook... spending another 50 to 100dhs will fix this problem.
  3. @sertac ABS kill is the first thing you should do for serious level drives. If the ABS kicks in during steep slope it will keep releasing the tires making your xterra go down without break or control.

  6. Congrats @Ale Vallecchi. I never got a chance to drive with you but i always feel my presence in your ride while reading your trip report. You achieved this level in very short time.. hat of to you Ale..
  7. Suction cup is good enough for light weight flag pole. If you are using heavy pole the one which is available in ACE hardware requires a proper fabricated bracket bolted to your vehicle.
  8. @Sajit Modiyil if you are driving in desert it is very important to replace the oil before the maintenance intervals. The normal operating temperature is 65deg to 80deg celsius. But while offroading it is a different story it reaches to 80 to 95deg and sometimes beyond that when you push it hard. As a rule of thumb every 15deg increase in operating temperature above 80deg cuts the life of fluid to half. For example if your car manufacturer requires to change the fluid at every 45000km under normal driving condition and if you are a weekend off roader it is very important for transmission to be serviced at every 30000 km to keep your transmission healthy. Always use recommended fluid specified by Nissan in owners manual.

  11. @Biju Abdul your radiator is sitting inside frame. 6mm thick aluminium is more than enough. If you have hanging radiator then you should go for a thicker plate with proper radiator support bracket.
  12. Happy Birthday Vaneesa.. wish you many many happy returns of the day
  13. Driving through sabkhas in between the drive is good for vehicle. Actually you make them breathe and smile.
  14. Trip Report @Remco Snoek @Pancho thanks for joining the drive on this lovely morning didn't feel like we are in middle of summer season. We all reached on time at meeting point and it was still dark. Deflated, flags raised and waited for first appearance of light in the sky. It was a super sweet convoy with only 3 cars. Remco snoek was in second place and Pancho as sweep. Khatim area is totally new for me and this was my second drive. This area has small to medium size dune and it is a perfect place to learn for newbies and fewbies. @Remco Snoek with his 2.7ltr V4 fortuner was not confident to do sideys in some of the dunes, he is to skip it or exit early. I really liked the way you drove by not attempting were you are not confident and pancho with his wrangler followed all my track precisely. We finished our drive near some good set of medium sizes dunes where we played and circled for 30min and exited on time. See you all soon and will explore some new area. VID_20200725180512.mp4
