  1. Thanks for the response, much appreciated!! however i did not check which i did now, that the car has a gear labeled as N(off road one). Any I dea what that does? @desertdude @Gaurav
  2. @desertdude @Rahimdad @Gaurav Hello again, I browsed around google with no success. The question! what happens on switching to off road gear on road? Let's take the lc100 series as an example, there are 3 off road gears, one for standard road driving, one low and one high. I know the low one shouldn't be used on road because it provides low gear ratio and excessive fuel consumption. What happens on high compared to standard road driving. What if someone started using the high gear for everyday road driving? If you want me to be more specific let me know! Thanks!!
  3. I could be wrong but for the taste of matte color i think wrap is the way to go.
  4. Hello Again, The paint on my car is really old and wrapping is the new stuff coming up in the car world. Lots of people do it. So is wrapping my car good or bad and what do you say about the carbon fiber wraps on ebay because they have awfully less reviews. And to keep things safe I'm using the same color of the wrap as the car. The wrap is paint protected so i can remove it whenever i want. All i want to go ahead are professional opinions.
  5. Can anybody join these trips? And btw you guys really take it slow on the sand and my car only manages to spin it's wheels.how?
  6. @desertdude Oh nevermind i just looked it up can you be specific about them coils?
  7. @desertdude what do I adjust in them tbars?(kinda new to me)
  8. @desertdude @Derick @rahulkhWhat would be better: Coilovers or just shocks? Something for occasional off road (sand mostly) and for daily driving. And pocket friendly too. Recommend me one and also tell me where can I get them in UAE!! Cheers!
  9. @desertdude Alright thank you, Let me put this forum to rest. I will ring back after and year or maybe two
  10. @treks @Barry @desertdudeThank you for all the response. @Derick It is all good. Thanks also. I hope i can be more detailed. I am actually looking for something that will hold 5-7 psi and get me to around 300 hp(sounds too much?). The engine is totally rebuilt. The car made 205 on base. Ecu reflashed and chipped to 217 hp. the mechanic said that the car is good for 450 hp. I understand all the basics of forced induction. Now why I said a used turbo is because they are out of cars that had an accident or other fault so the turbo is still in a good condition and also made for daily driving so not easy to have a shaft play or anything of that sort. They are aimed at reliability and a lot of good tuners recommend those (turbos from junkyards) for small amounts of boost and daily driving(just what I am looking for). About the power, it is not more than enough especially for those sand hills. You needn't worry about me learning to drive, I am comfortable with the car. Although, it is not like I am gonna turbo just tomorrow.
  11. Ok, @desertdude I will be doing soon. @Derick I was expecting help and not negativity. You are discouraging me from doing something that is not impossible and really common in UAE. I agree it isn't practical. People won't add turbo to a yaris or a tiida because first they were not built for boost and second who would really won't to do it to a yaris or some car. People use a yaris only for transport(mainly) because it is economical. You add a turbo only to a car that you love. And for adding a turbo you not always need to modify engine parts and in my case you don't need to change a single parts. A dyno tune in the end will be satisfactory. And PS I'm inheriting the car from my father which is already register and they don't do through car inspection while renewing registration (if they do it isn't a pain to remove a small turbo kit). Car might explode anytime! damn those all other arab dudes must be lucky to be alive right. You seem to have less knowledge about cars (no offense). But please try to follow me. I want to know if and where and for how much can i get them turbo parts? I did not ask how to turbo. Thank you very much.
  12. Well duellers out of bridgestone are satisfactory. And bfgoodrich all terrain.
  13. Hello, New user. I am not new to the car world but just underage (17). Soon I'll be able to do some stuff on the car. My god I have a lot of questions. First of all, I checked on ebay turbo kits and they give decent power but a lot of negativity on it's reliabilty. I have heard you can find a decent 2jz in a Sharjah scrapyard for about 1200 dirhams(heard could be wrong). So i was thinking making a visit to one of those scrapyards would find me a good reliable turbo (out of a toyota or a nissan or any jdm car) making decent boost(cuz lets see im not rich and not looking for a thousand horsepower). The car will be my daily with some off road trips. So what would be the cost of a used turbocharger and where would I find it? Also there is the thing of the manifold cuz it is a 6-2-1 and the pipes join really low (under the car, not a suitable place for a turbo). I looked at a turbo manifold and it was 5000 dhs!!!! way out of budget. So where and how much would it cost to get yours fabricated? Toyota LandCruiser 2001 gxr v6
